Why you’ll love this trip

Cycle through the backcountry of Yogyakarta – a world of flower-studded fields and friendly locals, this cultural centre is one of South East Asia’s standouts.
verified
Take a guided walk through the jungle and rice paddies of Seloliman Nature Reserve, then sit back, relax and soak up the ambience under the stars in a local guest house.
verified
Climb Mt Bromo in the early hours of the morning. If the conditions are right, you'll be rewarded with a dazzling view over mist-laden volcanoes.
verified
Explore Bandung – a city of contrasts – and feast on delicious street food in this unofficial food capital. Sit down in a 100-year-old café for a local cuppa, hike around volcanic craters, then soak your weary muscles in the hot springs.
verified
Balance out all of the activity and adventure with plenty of time to chill out away from the crowds at beachside paradise of Pemuteran on Bali’s less-visited north coast.

Part of travelling with Tuuur means respecting local cultures and sensibilities. That way you get the most out of your interactions with local people and environments. Dress standards in Java are more conservative than in other areas of Indonesia. Show your respect by covering your knees and shoulders when visiting temples. It's a great idea to bring your own sarong or purchase one on your way.

This tour was a fantastic trip. The itinerary is very varied and great to see the real Indonesia. Highlights included catching the sunrise over Mount Bromo, the scenery from the train trips, cycling through the gorgeous surroundings of Yogyakarta and the snorkelling experience in Bali. Sherly was an exceptional tour guide and went above and beyond! Highly recommend this tour.

Java and Bali - a fantastic 14 day trip through Indonesia. Tasting amazing foods like snake fruit and award winning, homemade tempeh. Visiting religious sites both contemporary and historical. A train ride through mountains and rice fields. Volcanoes, monkeys and the sea. This trip has everything, including a fantastic leader and great traveling companions. Highly recommend!

We found that it was a good tour to see the real Indonesia rather than just the high tourest spots. Getting involved with how people live and what they do for work, how they live and eat. Finding out of the way little gems and eating places. Highly recommended to see the real Indonesia.

Really enjoyed the Jakarta to Ubud trip. There was a good balance between planned activities and free time particularly in cities like Yogyakarta. Every day was different, fun and very well guided. Experiencing both Java and Bali was a fascinating way to come to some understanding of this diverse archipelago nation, Indonesia. It was my first time visiting and I came away with an enhanced knowledge and a deep respect for its people.
