Part of travelling with Tuuur means respecting local cultures and sensibilities. That way you get the most out of your interactions with local people and environments. For temple visits on this trip, you will need to wear clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees.

This trip involves some long train rides, including a couple of overnight trains. The train journeys from Delhi to Varanasi and Varanasi to Agra are is approximately 13 hours each. Sleeper trains are clean and air-conditioned and a great way to travel long distances while still getting maximum time in each place. Beds are padded berths with sheets, pillow and blanket provided (although some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet). Please note that you may be sharing with locals of other genders. For your own security, take a lock for your hand luggage. Sleeper train journeys in and out of Varanasi can be subject to long delays because of weather conditions, including heavy rain or fog. I have had the best experience on our Indian Getaway trip. Our tour leader Anant was fun, knowledgeable, patient, organised and went out of his way to make sure we were happy and safe. I have loved learning about India’s history and experience the food, sounds and sights. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

We had a ball on our Intrepid tour of India. Being immersed in the culture was a great experience that I will remember forever. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. It’s great to see Intrepid spend a lot of time trying to reduce environmental impact. I would have no problem recommending this tour to any of my family or friends.

Can’t speak more highly of Intrepid - the best travel company- very ethical and responsible tourism. Love travelling with the Basix- a good mixture of the “real” while remaining safe especially as a solo female traveller. Loved India !!
