Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip involves some long train journeys including one overnight train but entertaining chaiwalas, food vendors and conversations with local travellers make these unforgettable experiences. For your security, we recommend you take a lock for your hand luggage on the trains.
verified
While beautiful and atmospheric, our Thar Desert camp is very simple, with cots set up under the stars and very basic bathroom facilities. More details can be found on Day 5 of the itinerary.
verified
Don’t underestimate the weather at any time of year in India. In the summer months, the heat can be extreme. In winter, some travellers have been surprised by the cool evenings. A hat, sunscreen, and clothing that can be layered will serve you well year-round.
verified
You’ll visit several temples on this trip, which require a level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
verified
In extreme cases, long drives or trains can be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog, but alternative arrangements will be made. Please see the transport section of the Essential Trip Information for details.

This is a brilliant introduction to India! The women's only element enriches the whole experience as you are able to interact with the members of your group and the different hosts/experts on another level. Additionally, the trip is incredible value for money--so much is packed into the itinerary. Highly recommend!

Spectacular trip. This tour is such a brilliant way to experience India, it's perfectly paced so you make the best use of your time, but has some more chill spots such as Chandelao which allows you to stop and prep for the next big cities. I can't recommend this trip enough.

My journey with the India women’s expedition marked my very first solo trip, and I can wholeheartedly say it surpassed all my expectations! Each day brought new adventures, whether we were exploring vibrant local markets, participating with the local women, or witnessing breathtaking landscapes and architecture.
Embracing every moment together forged genuine connections, and I found a sense of belonging that made the experience even more meaningful. The trip was not just about traveling; it was about empowering one another, celebrating our individual journeys, and creating unforgettable memories that I will cherish forever.

Our Intrepid Women’s Tour in India was absolutely incredible, and much of that is thanks to our wonderful guide, Anjali. She was everything you could hope for in a tour leader — patient, kind, endlessly knowledgeable, and always respectful.
Anjali brought India to life for us with her deep insight into the culture, history, and local life. She was also so much fun — her sense of humour and warmth made every day enjoyable. Most importantly, I felt completely safe travelling with her, which made it easy to relax and really enjoy the experience.
My 80-year-old mum was travelling with us, and Anjali’s care and attention towards her went far beyond expectations. She was thoughtful and attentive, making sure Mum was comfortable and included in everything we did. That personal touch meant the world to us.
I can’t recommend Anjali highly enough — she’s a true professional and an absolute gem. She turned what could have been just a great trip into something truly special.

My first time to India and what an eye opener.
From the noise and chaos of Delhi, the quiet of the Thar Desert and splendour of the Taj Mahal
There were many highlights but the Pink City Rickshaw food tour was one.
Also, seeing what the women at Sunder Rang were producing and the courage of the Sheroes women were a stand out.
To all women - take a chance.

This was an amazing chance to explore Rajasthan. The accommodation was always good but was outstanding in Jaisalmer and Chandelao Village. Highlights for me included delicious food in superb rooftop restaurants, a food tour with the Pink Ladies rickshaw company and the visit to the Women’s Cooperative (shopping heaven!). Dressing in saris to visit the Taj Mahal was an unforgettable experience and we had some stunning photographs taken. Other great experiences were the visits to the homes of local women to cook and eat with them.
Our guide, Tem, was a wonderful young lady who did an amazing job in keeping us safe, happy and well informed at all times. I would highly recommend this trip to any woman looking to travel in India, you’ll have a fabulous experience!
