Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip involves some long train journeys including one overnight train but entertaining chaiwalas, food vendors and conversations with local travellers make these unforgettable experiences. For your security, we recommend you take a lock for your hand luggage on the trains.
verified
While beautiful and atmospheric, our Thar Desert camp is very simple, with cots set up under the stars and very basic bathroom facilities. More details can be found on Day 5 of the itinerary.
verified
Don’t underestimate the weather at any time of year in India. In the summer months, the heat can be extreme. In winter, some travellers have been surprised by the cool evenings. A hat, sunscreen, and clothing that can be layered will serve you well year-round.
verified
You’ll visit several temples on this trip, which require a level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
verified
In extreme cases, long drives or trains can be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog, but alternative arrangements will be made. Please see the transport section of the Essential Trip Information for details.

Such an incredible trip, and it’s the people who make it so amazing, especially our guide Parul, she quickly became our friend and we shared lots of stories, laughter, and games.
It was so lovely to support and learn about the local women, along with learning about the culture and history everywhere we went. Everything about this trip was spectacular and an amazing way to explore the north of India.

This was my first tour with Intrepid and it won’t be my last. Parul, our tour leader, was INCREDIBLE, sharing knowledge, clear information, laughs and protecting us no matter what crazy situation we came upon! Being in a group with like minded women was empowering and enjoyable. The inclusions were well chosen and I learnt a lot at each of them but particularly loved the heritage hotel and Sheroes. I recommend sharing dishes at meals with fellow travellers to try more in the short time here! Pack light but leave space!

Not just a holiday but an adventure and a journey. Delve into the history and current affairs of India by travelling Northern India. So many highlights but my top three would be sleeping under the stars in the desert, see the Taj Mahal up close and spending time with the inspiring and strong acid attack survivors. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to see an authentic view of India.

The women's trip
to India was inspirational. Anglai took
great care of us and provided cultural, historical and political insights. The choice of experiences was incredible including the desert camping. We stays in a mixture of modern and heritage properties as well as the excitement of over night trains. It was a life changing experience were I felt safe, inspired, reenergised and happy. I met great people, saw amazing aspects of India and would fully recommend.

The India: Women’s Expedition Trip went way beyond my expectations. For us first time travellers to India, our guide Anjali led us confidently and capably. She is a wealth of information, supremely organised and managed our group superbly with delightful good humour. We experienced Rajasthan in a way I couldn’t have imagined. The experience was magical. Anjali is a brilliant guide. Book it now. ☺️

While this trip was insightful, informative and perfectly put together, the most stand-out part of this trip was the incredible care, warm heartedness, passion and around the clock support of our wonderful guide Shristi. I unfortunately became unwell during the trip, and Shristi went above and beyond to make sure I had all the support I needed, even when she was managing other tasks with other tour participants. Many people say it’s not the place, but the people, who make a great trip, and that is 100% true. I’ll forever remember India for the care, respect and laughter i shared with Shristi and the other wonderful women on the tour.

I highly recommend the women’s expedition tour to Rajasthan for every woman* who seeks to understand the culture of north-western India and is interested in getting to know the people and the country. Our tour guide Shrishti Sharma was born to be a tour guide. I admired her passion for the country and really learned a lot by this trip. My expectations were greatly exceeded. Thanyavad and Namaste!

This trip was extraordinary. We were able to see so much more than I would have seen if I had travelled alone (which i usually do). Our tour guide Shrishti was a superstar, warm, friendly, knowledgeable, hardworking and also hilarious! I've left this trip with so many friends. Highlights include the overnight train, the Bollywood movie and meeting local women!
