Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip involves some long train journeys but entertaining chaiwalas, food vendors and conversations with local travellers make these unforgettable experiences. For your security, we recommend you take a lock for your hand luggage on the trains.
verified
While beautiful and atmospheric, our Thar Desert camp is very simple, with cots set up under the stars and very basic bathroom facilities. More details can be found on Day 3 of the itinerary.
verified
Don’t underestimate the weather at any time of year in India. In the summer months, the heat can be extreme. In winter, some travellers have been surprised by the cool evenings. A hat, sunscreen, and clothing that can be layered will serve you well year-round.
verified
You’ll visit several temples on this trip, which require a level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
verified
In extreme cases, long drives or trains can be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog, but alternative arrangements will be made. Please see the transport section of the Essential Trip Information for details.

I loved my women's expedition trip in India. I was a solo traveller and felt very anxious, but our tour leader Varsha was so incredible, organised and amazing, and so I felt incredibly safe the entire time. I loved my experience in beautiful India, i got to experience extraordinary historical sites, hectic cities, small villages and see sides of India I could never have discovered if I hadn't picked this tour. I haven't ever travelled on an organised tour before, but I definitely will again. I highly recommend this trip! And thank you to Varsha for being such an incredible tour leader!

This was a really good way of seeing India for the first time. You need to be up for an adventure and to possess the required physical stamina. A really varied set of inclusions from fabulous palaces to acid attack survivors cafe. Loved the women makers at Chandelao too.

The fast paced itinerary ensures you’ll see and do so much while also being balanced with time to slow down during travel and free time. Special shoutout to Shrishti for being the best tour guide!

Incredible trip to India! Our guide Shrishti was so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and gave us an amazing first hand experience of Northern India. So many highlights but the desert camp was an amazing start to the itinerary. It’s fantastic value for how much you see in the time there.

The Intrepid Women's Expedition of Rajasthan, India was fun/exhilerating/informative. I was exposed to some of the day-to-day life of the people, their homes, food, transport, history. I rode in trains, coaches, jeeps, tuk-tuks, rickshaws. I had masala tea, kulfi ice cream. I felt safe. Our tour leader was excellent.
