Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip involves some long train journeys including one overnight train but entertaining chaiwalas, food vendors and conversations with local travellers make these unforgettable experiences. For your security, we recommend you take a lock for your hand luggage on the trains.
verified
While beautiful and atmospheric, our Thar Desert camp is very simple, with cots set up under the stars and very basic bathroom facilities. More details can be found on Day 5 of the itinerary.
verified
Don’t underestimate the weather at any time of year in India. In the summer months, the heat can be extreme. In winter, some travellers have been surprised by the cool evenings. A hat, sunscreen, and clothing that can be layered will serve you well year-round.
verified
You’ll visit several temples on this trip, which require a level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
verified
In extreme cases, long drives or trains can be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog, but alternative arrangements will be made. Please see the transport section of the Essential Trip Information for details.

From fabulous forts to women's cooperatives, and from wonderfully memorable train journeys to a night sleeping under the stars in the desert, what a treat it was to share so many of the wonders of Rajasthan with a great group of women from six countries. And having the awesome Ankita as our guide made the experience even more special and lots of fun too. I would have no hesitation in recommending this trip...and I just wish Intrepid did more women-only ones!

Highly rate the Intrepid Journeys Solo Women's Rajasthan Trip. A great mix of activities, seeing key highlights in each particular area, as well as some down time. We had the most fabulous Guide in Ankita. If you do this tour & get her, you will be blessed. Nat - NZ Feb 26

This woman’s only tour was the best decision I made as a solo woman traveller. I made wonderful connections with the other ladies and our tour guide Ankita was so kind, caring, compassionate and knowledgeable in such a chaotic crazy wonderful beautiful country. Any woman who feels drawn to explore India but would like to be surrounded by a group of women and see India through the eyes of women, this tour is for you.

If there is anyone reading this and considering this trip then my honest advice is to just go for it! This trip was exactly what I needed after going through a rough time. Meeting the most amazing inspiring women who have had to fight through so much, I am grateful to them to share their stories and lives with us. The Thar dessert was also incredible, as was all the other sites, the Taj didn't disappoint either, I have travelled a lot and it is the most beautiful building I have ever seen! I was also so lucky to meet the most amazing women that I shared this experience with, every single one of them where the most incredible women and I really hope I see them again! Lastly our guide Ankita was just incredible, knowledgeable, friendly, professional and fun and so caring and kind to all of us. This trip wouldn't have been what it was without her and I am so grateful to her for making it the most amazing experience for us. Not only was she our guide but she was also part of group and became a friend just like the other women in the group as well! I shall never forget any of it. It was the most amazing experience and I just feel so grateful to have been able to have done it! Please just go for it if you are considering it!

Loved this trip! Ankita was an amazing leader who made everything run smoothly. India felt really safe and the locals were so friendly and helpful. Traveling with all women was genuinely fun. The heritage stays, desert camp and female-focused activities were unique highlights. Note there are a few shopping stops (textiles, gemstones) which most people enjoyed. Perfect introduction to India.

An action-packed itinerary, a great group and a superb tour leader (thank you Shristi!) made this a great trip. The heritage stays were an unexpected but special cherry on top. Recommended.

This was a great trip through Rajasthan. We had a great mix of cities and history combined with local interactions and heritage stays. My recommendation would be to avoid the holiday departures (middle of Dec - middle of Jan) because the sites will be much busier (local holidays) and the fog caused disruptions to our travel.

A 10/10 for the Women's Tour of Rajasthan, and a 15/10 for our wonderful tour leader Shrishti. A great time was enjoyed by our group of 12 women, ranging in age from 20s to 80. The itinerary was varied and interesting, and the warmth shown to us by the women we visited made the tour so special. I highly recommend this tour.

This was my first Intrepid trip, and it exceeded every expectation. The itinerary was perfectly planned, immersive, and meaningful. Our leader, Varsha, was exceptional, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to our safety. Her pride in sharing India made this an experience I will never forget. I can't recommend this trip enough!

If you are reading these reviews then I can honestly whole heartedly say book it. The women's expedition is the best way to see the real India. You will come home exlilirated in the cultural diversity india has to offer. Tem our tour leader provided us with the most amazing experience and her she generously shared her passion and enthusiasm which made my holiday very special.
