Trip Informations
Trace India’s famous Golden Triangle on this eight-day trip of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Explore the icons and discover local spots in the perfect introduction to the diverse northern region of India. Begin in thriving Delhi and explore the city by rickshaw and metro. Travel to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur to see historic architecture and the 18th-century observatory. Get some respite with a rural heritage stay, then head to Agra to tick the iconic Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World) off your list. Before you know it, you’re back in Delhi, ordering chaat like a pro and toasting a chai to an incredible adventure.
Why you’ll love this trip
Experience the character of Old Delhi on a rickshaw and walking tour, weaving through the narrow alleyways and exploring Delhi’s oldest mosque.
See the Taj Mahal up close and wonder at the intricate optical illusions that decorate the marble on this masterpiece of Indian architecture.
Tour the spectacular hillside Amber Fort and wonder at the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors), where the walls are covered in a mosaic of reflective and coloured glass.
Take a break from bustling cities in rural Rajasthan, where you can catch your breath and spend the night in the faded opulence of your heritage stay.
Explore several of India’s must-see sights in just a week – this itinerary is perfect for people short on time, with long travel days kept to a minimum.
Is this trip right for you?
This compact trip packs a lot in. It’s the shortest Indian trip we run in this style, perfect for those with little time and a desire to do the most with it. If you are after a more leisurely trip in North India, enter trip code HHSC on our website.
India can get extremely hot in the summer. While we aim to do our walking tours early in the morning when it’s cooler, remember to keep water on you and to bring a hat, sunscreen, a long-sleeved shirt, and anything else that will protect you from the sun.
Part of travelling with Tuuur means respecting local cultures and sensibilities. That way you get the most out of your interactions with local people and environments. We visit several temples on this trip and to enter them you must have clothes that cover to wrists and below the knee.
We've sourced our accommodation carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel. Service and accommodation in India may be different from Western standards.

Intrepid’s Golden Triangle tour was a fantastic introduction to this incredible country. Our guide was so knowledgeable and thoroughly looked after every detail to make sure we all had the best experience. In a relatively short trip we learnt so much about the diverse culture, history and customs of India, and we saw some of the most stunning architecture anywhere in the world. I can’t wait to visit India again with Intrepid.

A fantastic experience, highly recommended. As a solo traveller, I was happy to meet a lovely group of people. Our group leader, Pooja, made the trip extra special with her knowledge and friendly personality. A very interesting itinerary, I loved every minute.

The “Golden Triangle trip “ is I think the best introduction to India. The diversity of people and culture experienced within 8 days in my view is enough to make a person wish to return. It is great means of bonding with fellow travelers. We were lucky to have scored the best of guides. ( Poojar)

Nice trip to see the Indian culture in a short amount of time. There are a lot of activities during the trip, but it did not feel as a rush. The accommodations are also nice and I always felt save during the trip. I highly recommend it.

This was a great group trip! It was very action packed, which meant we saw plenty of India, but organised very well so it wasn’t not too tiring. Parul was the best host and made our experience even better! Thank you.

The perfect introduction to India! Our leader Parul was amazing and knowledgable. The trip was fun, informative and we went from nervous on day 1, to fallen in love with India by day 8! 10/10 would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience India and meet some lovely local people with the help of a guide.

India is chaotic and takes your out of your comfort zone, embrace it with a top guide as that'll make or break your experience. My trip to the Golden Triangle was incredible, experiencing so much in just a week, mainly due to the top-tier guide Anjali!
