Is this trip right for you?

India is a great food destination for vegetarians. With wonderful fresh produce and many delicious local dishes, you'll have a great time on this trip. For vegans we recommend reviewing the itinerary and inclusions to ensure that you will be able to fully participate and enjoy this trip. We also have many other trips to India which can accommodate a range of dietary requirements.
verified
India is a big country and there are some long travel days on this departure. Use these as an opportunity to relax, witness everyday life from the window of your vehicle and get to know your fellow travellers.
verified
This trip travels by overnight train from Udaipur to Mumbai. While the overnight train can seem a little daunting, it is a very efficient way to travel long distances and maximising time in each place. Long distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between December and February.
verified
This trip stays in a mix of accommodation to experience a variety of Indian life. Standards can vary though – there will be hot water in most but not all hotels.
verified
The climate in India can vary in the different states – be prepared for hot sticky days and cooler evenings. Layered clothing is the best way to tackle this disparity in weather.
verified
Old Delhi can be very busy and crowded. While it’s an exciting place to see local life moving around you, be aware that on the walking tour you’ll need to navigate through people, tight spaces and walkways.

It's hard to sum up this trip, but if you're unsure, just go for it. It was a brilliant introduction to India and offered huge variety, food was safe, the destinations fascinating. Plenty of hustle and bustle as well as down time. Tony was an excellent guide, and the trip has already made me want to see more of this fascinating country.

I highly recommend this trip particularly in you have trepidations about travelling in India, as I did. Ajay made everything easy, great communication as to how, when, where etc. We did produce markets, cooking lessons and saw many of the historic treasures of India. There was down time in the itinerary to shop or simply relax and regroup. I enjoyed the trip immensely

My first trip with Intrepid and was very impressed from start to finish. We had a great guide, Yaddu, who made the whole experience a positive one. I would definitely recommend Intrepid and also do another tour with them

My third Intrepid Food trip and seventh overall. The food was excellent, the itinerary fantastic even though I had been to a number of the cities before. Every day was an adventure with new places, new food and new experiences. Our leader Yaddu was very experienced, engaging, charismatic, organised, knowledgable. He must be good as so many other guides both Intrepid and other would come and pay homage to him

Our Real Food Adventure Tour was amazing. Being first time on an Intrepid Journey we had no idea what to expect and it was far beyond our expectations. We ate our way through India, trying all sorts of vegetarian meals & non-vegetarian meals. Our tour guide Yaddu was amazing, he made our trip one to remember, along with a fantastic group of people we met in our group. I would highly recommend going on this tour!

The India Real Food Adventure allows you to not only enjoy the food but also to see many areas of the country. As well as the bustling cities of Delhi and Mumbai there is the contrast of charming Udaipur and a more rural setting in Bijaipur. Something for everyone!
