Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Hike the iconic Laugavegur Trail as you learn about the region’s history and distinct landscape from your local leader.
Explore Icelandic countryside, valleys, natural geothermal features and lava fields as you walk through the Fjallabak Nature Reserve.
Taste the region’s local produce during lunch at Landmannalaugar, then indulge in a traditional Icelandic dinner including mountain lamb or fish and lots of potatoes.
Make the most of your free time – get to know the local way of life with a soak in the Laugardalslaug Geothermal Pool or learn about the history of Iceland at the National Museum.
Relax in your cosy hut accommodation along the Laugavegur Trail. Put your feet up each night and take in the surrounding views of icecaps, moss-covered hills and basaltic columns.
Is this trip right for you?
In June and July, it doesn’t get dark in Iceland, so make sure to bring an eye mask.
Please be pack and be prepared for all weather conditions. The weather can be relatively harsh (very windy, cold and rainy usually mixed with some sunshine and calm conditions as well).
The trail huts are communal and have dorm-style sleeping arrangements. Amenities range from hut to hut and at most include hot water, showers or electricity.
