Trip Informations
Experience the midnight sun on this five-day adventure of Iceland’s southern coast. Visit all the highlights of the country’s iconic Golden Circle – soaking in the steamy geothermal waters of the Secret Lagoon and marvelling at the eruptions of the Strokkur Geysir, before strapping on the crampons and hiking across the Solheimajokull Glacier, feeling the mist of waterfalls on your face. If you're lucky, you might even see a whisp of the Northern Lights!
Why you’ll love this trip
Make the most of Iceland at night during the midnight sun – a period in summer when the sun doesn't set for almost 24 hours!
Revel in an I’m-so-far-from-home moment as you explore one of Europe’s largest ice caps on an adventurous walk over the Solheimajokull Glacier, and bask in the spray of the spectacular Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss falls.
Visit a local art workshop and chat with the artists in a rugged, off-the-beaten-track harbour town.
See the sights that make Iceland’s famous Golden Circle so celebrated, from Gulfoss Waterfall to Strokkur Geysir and Thingvellir National Park.
Soak in a geothermal pool at the lesser-known Secret Lagoon – is there anything more quintessentially Icelandic?
Is this trip right for you?
A remote location and high-performing currency are just two reasons Iceland can be an expensive destination. This affects things like museum entrance fees and outdoor activities but is especially noticeable when eating out. Your leader will be able to advise you on ways to get the best value during your visit.
The extremity of the weather makes for incredible scenery, but it also means Iceland can be very cold, especially at the start and at the end of the season and at night. Please bring appropriate clothing such as a down jacket, thermals layers, gloves and suitable footwear.
On the rare occasion that your leader must alter the itinerary due to adverse weather, they will discuss the necessary changes and alternatives with you and offer alternative activities and routes wherever possible.

Great guide, - knowledgeable and flexible. Fascinating itinerary sights. Food, accommodation and travel van ( a new vehicle with WIFI and USB chargers) were excellent. We really liked that the group size was limited to 12, rather than being in a full sized bus tour. Appreciated that all participants had to be vaccinated when we made our bookings. It was great to stay three nights in one place so we didn’t have to pack up every day. Highlight for me was the glacier walk where the guide was so informative, provided great instruction to us rookies and had great equipment for us to use.

This was my first trip with Intrepid and it was amazing! Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience Iceland on a short timeframe. Our knowledgeable Icelandic guide, Kristjan, was so fantastic. He provided us with great insights about the culture and history of all the regions we were seeing, along with some laughs and great recommendations. The itinerary included a lot of the "can't miss" Icelandic sights and allowed us to experience a lot of the culture. The idyllic farmstay and breathtaking glacier walk were the highlights for me.
