With easy to moderate walks, conveniently located accommodation and a knowledgeable local leader to keep everything running smoothly, this trip offers an active yet leisurely way to explore one of Italy’s most iconic mountain ranges. Why you’ll love this trip
Take in scenes of sheer rock walls, deep valleys and flower-filled meadows on foot in one of Italy’s most iconic hiking destinations.
Stay at a hotel surrounded by parkland and native woods within easy walking distance of the town of Dobbiaco.
Hike the Three Peaks of Lavaredo loop – a full day's walk that’s widely regarded as the most scenic trail in the Dolomites.

Is this trip right for you?
The Dolomites sees pleasantly warm weather, with hot summer days and rain and thunderstorms on occasion. It can get cool in the evening throughout the year so bring warm clothes. Good walking clothing including waterproof wet weather gear and appropriate footwear are a must.
You’ll walk up to 14 km per day, with a maximum elevation gain of 800 m. You may wish to bring walking poles with you.
On Day 7, you’ll take a cable car ride from Versciacio to the start of your walk. The views are stunning, but if you suffer from vertigo, you may feel slightly uncomfortable.

What an excellent introduction to the Dolomites! Each day provided a different adventure, with spectacular scenery to enjoy. Marco, our tour lead, grew up hiking the Dolomites and so could share his knowledge of, and love for, the region. Five stars across the board!

Marco was very knowledgeable about the area and surrounding areas. Great with off the beat tracks so that were experience really hiking not just walking on roads. He was very approachable and always explained the days activities clearly and throughly. He planned group dinners and attended dinners with the group which was above and beyond his responsibilities. He was caring making sure we were all safe and ensuring we were all on and off public transport and gave us plenty of time to get ourselves organised. Marco got us to the bus stations early to ensure we didn’t miss a bus when the services ran every hour and made sure we had a seat on longer bus trips. He also made sure we had bathroom breaks before a long trip. Ensuring we knew when the next break would be which was very important and helpful to know. Overall Marco was an excellent group leader and I would highly recommend him.

Marco is the perfect guide for the Dolomites! He expertly navigated tricky weather so we could hike with minimal rain, but the real highlight was his incredible knowledge. From the rich history and local culture to finding the best regional food, he went above and beyond. Truly a phenomenal Intrepid experience!

This trip was excellent. The itinerary and accommodation was just right for a first visit to the Dolomites. Our guide was informative, gave local tips and wary of the constant changing weather to help with the itinerary. Would highly recommend

We spent a week hiking in the Dolomites with Intrepid. Our guide was Magda and she was sensational. She was very approachable and engaging and made the trip memorable for our group of 5 (there were 10 on the tour). The day hikes were excellent. We stayed in Dobbiaco which is a lovely town close to the Austrian border. The hotel was fine, the stand out being the very large room we enjoyed for the week. I would definitely recommend this tour with Intrepid.
