Is this trip right for you?
This is a hiking trip that features a balance of moderate to challenging hikes that highlight the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Your daily hiking distance ranges from 3.2 km (2 mi) to 11 km (6.6 mi), some with significant elevation gain. Please check the special information within the daily itinerary for exact distances and elevation gain/loss. A good level of fitness and appropriate hiking gear is a must.
This is a camping trip where you are expected to pitch in with setting up tents and helping out with cooking and washing up.
Some activities in the Rockies have flexible opening and closing dates that vary based on snowfall at higher elevations and other seasonal conditions. On departures in May, early June, September and October, some activities like gondolas, certain mountain hikes or rafting may be unavailable, but these shoulder season months offer the advantage of fewer crowds and a more relaxed travel experience. Your leader will have a range of alternate activity suggestions no matter the season.
Mosquitoes are most active during summer months, particularly during wetter seasons and low-lying areas where standing water provides ideal breeding conditions. To protect yourself, use insect repellent (those containing DEET, picaridin or oil of lemon eucalyptus are most effective). Wear long-sleeved, light-coloured clothing, especially during dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active. You may consider treating clothing with permethrin before you travel.
This trip starts on Day 1 as early as 7.30 am and finishes on Day 8 when you arrive in Calgary at around 4 pm. You may wish to pre-book additional nights in Calgary at the start and end of the trip.

8 days was a really good length of time, tent camping and being in nature constantly. Very refreshing and relaxing while also challenging with hikes and activity. We were all solo travelers that came together; the group was sweet and wonderful, we really bonded and enjoyed each other. The Canadian Rockies was the most beautiful place I’ve seen; it’s exactly my cup of tea; tall mountains and trees and beautiful blue lakes. Helps you forget about stressors in life and let go and relax and appreciate nature and the earth; while also being active daily! I’m happiest when I’m active and moving. The hikes were gorgeous though quite a bit of snow and mud. I appreciate the thorough itinerary keeping us busy to see and do as much as possible.

Anabelle was a fantastic tour leader. Any group would be lucky to have her. She is extremely knowledgeable about the area. She is well organized, and we had thoughtful plans for each day of the trip. If possible, please offer the whitewater rafting trip for future groups.

Hiking in the Rockies was unforgettable. Our guides, Louis and Jérôme took brilliant care of us, super informative, friendly, and funny guys. We had such a great time as a group and all enjoyed the hikes, learning about the wildlife and nature around us, helping out with dinner, and chatting around the fire in the evenings. The perfect trip through the Rockies! The scenery was unbelievable, too.
