Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Visit Little Petra and hike the lesser-known backroad into iconic Petra – one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Spend a full day exploring the secret hiking trails of this awe-inspiring ancient treasure.
Explore the spectacular Dana Reserve on foot – this unbelievably diverse reserve was established to protect wildlife and provide local communities with employment.
See Wadi Rum, a world unto itself. Hop in 4WDs and experience its twisted rock scenery, watching the sunset on a trek through this rugged moonscape.
Learn about the Bedouin culture over an earthen oven-cooked feast before sleeping under the stars – these semi-nomadic locals are renowned for their hospitality, so you're in for a treat.
Experience the best weightlessness this side of outer space with an effortless float in the super-salty waters of the Dead Sea.
Is this trip right for you?
There is good amount of hiking involved in this trip and when visiting Jordan's historic sites, especially in Petra and Wadi Rum. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
Most of the time there is no shade, so remember to bring a hat, sun protection, and sturdy, comfortable hiking boots or walking shoes.
The distances that you will be trekking vary from 14 km to 20 km over a range of terrains, we recommend you consider packing trekking poles for the hikes.
The desert camp in Wadi Rum is basic but incredibly memorable. There are tents and shared western bathroom facilities. While the desert may be very hot during the day, it will still be cool at night, so remember to bring some warmer layers, especially if visiting outside of the summer months.

This was a fantastic trip! It offered a great mixture of challenging hikes in different terrain, cultural highlights, breathtaking sceneries, and delicious food. It is THE best way of seeing the Petra and Wadi Rum. Mohamed was an enthusiastic and skilled leader. Would highly recommend him as your guide!

Hiking in Jordan is an excellent way to experience the country. You go beyond where the regular crowds go and really get to the heart of the destination. The accommodation was all excellent, especially the Wadi Rum camp. The hikes were demanding but rewarding and the views got better and better. Our guide Mohammed was excellent and really gave us a great insight into not only the natural side of the country but the Jordanian culture also. Fantastic trip.

If you're considering this trip – book it! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Jordan has been on my list for years and this trip exceeded all expectations. Jordan is an amazing country – the warmth of the people, the amazing food, the rich history and the culture. Hiking through Petra and through Wadi Rum was an incredible way to experience both. But it was Mohammed, the trip leader, who made this trip extra special! He's incredibly knowledgeable, funny, kind and considerate.

Well organised trip with an excellent guide. Hiking in Petra was hot (around 30 degrees), any more would be very challenging. The two days hiking in Wadi Rum wasn't that interesting in terms of sites to see. The Dead Sea was a great experience. Overall the hiking isn't too long or challenging apart from the heat and dust. Was a bit more expensive that I was expecting (needed around 300 JOD in cash)

Excellent trip. Our guide, Mohamed, took care to get to know us and learn our expectations up front and make sure the trip succeeded them. He even lent me his raincoat as I had not paid attention to the trip notes and forgotten to bring one. Note that this truly IS a strenuous trip at a fast pace in challenging terrain, so you do need to be fit!
