Trip Informations
Journey through the Land of Smiles, where spicy delicacies, majestic elephants, golden Buddhas, colourful hilltribe villages, and fantastic markets all come together. Thailand's stunning beauty and charming culture are always present on this 10-day small group adventure. Witness traditional hilltribe life in a Hmong village, support the rehabilitation of the endangered Asian elephant in Chiang Mai, cruise down Bangkok’s famous khlongs, step back in time in the ancient kingdom of Sukhothai and try your hand at creating some delectable Thai dishes. This is your chance to capture the adventure and timeless essence of Thailand.
Why you’ll love this trip
Experience an unforgettable day in the company of the giants of the jungle, Asian elephants, at a reserve that will teach you about conservation and animal protection in this region.
Take in some of Thailand’s most iconic sights, including the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Hellfire Pass in Kanchanaburi, and the Doi Suthep temple in Chiang Mai.
Whip up a culinary storm in Sukhothai, creating and tasting delicious traditional dishes at a cooking class with a local host.
Immerse yourself in an ancient culture with a night in the Hmong lodge, where you’ll be treated to a barbecue dinner and Hmong cultural show.
Uncover the ancient charms of Sukhothai on a leisurely bike tour through the ruin-filled Historical Park, followed by a delicious picnic lunch.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, EcoThailand Foundation. Donations help educate school children on important environmental issues like climate change, nature appreciation, conservation and sustainability.
Is this trip right for you?
There is an included bicycle ride around Sukhothai Heritage Park on this trip. It’s a leisurely cycle along quiet and flat roads, and one of the best ways to see the park.
Less time spent in a vehicle; more time to explore each destination. This trip has been carefully designed to give you the best experience of a region by reducing the number of one-night-only stops, giving you extra time in the places that matter. As a shorter trip that covers quite a lot of ground, there will be travelling every other day to the next destination. Please note travel times on the itinerary days carefully for travel estimates.

As first time Intrepid travellers we did not know what to expect. This was a fantastic, fun and most enjoyable trip. Our guide, accomodation and excursions suited a wide age range and our travel companions will be friends from now on.

Amazing way to see the highlights of Thailand and experience local culture in a short period of time. Our leader Damrong made the trip a memorable one through his enthusiasm, humour and passion. The highlights for me were the historic train ride in Kanchanaburi and the trip to the elephant sanctuary. Highly recommend this trip!

Naa is an excellent tour guide and a really kind, caring, and considerate person. She really made the trip safe and comfortable for everyone and our group appreciated her a lot. Her cooking school is fun and biking around Sukhothai was a fun experience. I appreciated that we went to an ethical elephant sanctuary and had the opportunity to be in close proximity with several elephants. We had a nice mix of cultural experiences and time for relaxation and exploration. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

What a terrific tour! We did so much, learned so much and laughed a lot! Our guide, Rabbit, was funny, patient and kind - and helped create a very special chemistry amongst a diverse group of travellers. The 10 days went by so quickly, with just the right balance of activities and downtime. And the mix of activities ensured there was something for everyone, every day. Truly an unforgettable journey, with some unforgettable new friends!

Travelling from Bangkok through to Northern Thailand in air conditioned comfort. Thanks to tour guide Rabbit, we gained an insight into the cultural and religious aspects to Thai life, which prepared us well for temple visits and meeting Thai people during the variety of activities. Visiting the elephants, cycling and Thai cooking school were highlights, along with meeting and travelling with a diverse and multicultural group.

The highlights of Thailand tour gave me the perfect taste of Thailand and left me eager to return. It was the perfect mix of culture, history and leisure. The food was delicious and the cultural performance evening by the Hmong Hilltop Tribe and the visit to the ChangChill Elephant Sanctuary were an absolute highlight! I look forward to exploring more of Asia as a result of joining this Intrepid tour!
