Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Snorkel among colourful fish, green sea turtles and the winding underground lava tubes of Las Tintoreras (Shark Alley).
Lace up your hiking boots and set off on a hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano Lookout – one of the Galapagos’ most active volcanoes and the world's second-largest crater.
Join a local family for a cooking class and learn to make empanadas. Then, get hands-on with a creative activity where you’ll turn plastic (collected from local beaches) into art.
Visit the Arnaldo Tupiza Tortoise Breeding Centre, where you'll see giant tortoises at all stages of development roam free in their natural habitats.
Explore the distinct volcanic rock formations and local marine life of the Galapagos as you kayak through the turquoise waters around Isla Isabela.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a well-rounded family adventure, and there are many reasons to fall in love with the Galapagos Islands. That said, wildlife is the major focus of this trip, so it's especially suited to animal-lovers and birdwatchers.
This trip visits places that are at high altitude, and as a result some people can suffer from altitude sickness, regardless of age or physical health. Please see the Medical and health information section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
This trip involves some travel by speedboat between the various Galapagos Islands. The rides can be quite bumpy at times, but the good news is that seasickness can often be managed with medication. Please consult a health professional to assess your suitability for such medication.

Incredible! We travel a lot, but had never done an organized tour before. This time, since I was traveling alone with my youngest son, I thought it would be a good idea to simplify and relax. And it truly helped so much! Everything was super organized and hassle-free. The online support was excellent, and the guides were very knowledgeable, patient, and kind with children. The accommodations were small, local, and full of charm. The itinerary was well-balanced and everything was perfectly planned — nothing felt improvised. We’ll definitely be back for another adventure. So happy to decide to travel with you!

This was an absolutely AMAZING trip and we had an absolute blast. As a mother traveling alone with my 11 year old daughter, I felt safe, comfortable, and happy the entire time. Our tour leader Jacinto was absolutely PERFECT and we could not have asked for a leader who wad more knowledge and patience. The accommodations were far better than I expected and the itinerary was the perfect mix of activities and down time. The Galapagos Islands were one of the most beautiful places this well traveled traveler has ever been. I strongly recommend Intrepid, this family tour in general, and the Galapagos Islands. Kudos to Intrepid for making this a perfect trip. Thank you!

We had a great time on this lovely family trip! The activities included were all amazing and the leaders were thoughtful guides who made the experience even better. Our children are 7 and 11 and had a great time. I would recommend that if you have little ones, you practice snorkeling in pools before going on the trip so the kids can enjoy all the snorkeling. One tip is to not book pre- or post-accommodation through Intrepid for the La Cartuja Hotel - there are much nicer, cheaper options in better locations.

Great family trip. Kids loved the giant tortoises and marine life on the Galapagos! Our guide, Genesis, was amazing! Snorkeling with turtles and sea lions will not be forgotten. What a beautiful country!
