Why you’ll love this trip
Limber up with a relaxing yoga lesson on the south coast before using the same balancing manoeuvres on a surfboard in Taghazout – one of the best local spots for surfing.
Experience Djemaa el-Fna Square as the sun descends and see one of the largest public spaces in the world come to life. Watch street performers, listen to local storytellers and maybe even get a henna tattoo.
Get to know Essaouira, named ‘little picture’ for a reason – and rub shoulders with the locals as you traverse the picturesque, whitewashed walls with a local guide who knows all the go-to spots.
Indulge your senses with a street food experience in Essaouira, sampling harira (soup), mesman (flat bread), sweets and local olive oil and honey.
Whether it’s surfing, swimming or just lazing on the sand with a good book – exploring the local beaches in Morocco’s fishing villages is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Is this trip right for you?
In 2025, Ramadan will take place from 1 March to 30 March. Travelling during this holy month can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.
As Morocco has a tipping culture, travellers are expected to tip small amounts for most services, so please be prepared. Your leader will suggest methods and amounts to tip during the trip, but it is left to the group to decide the details.
Although you shouldn’t expect any aggressive selling techniques in Morocco, please be aware that you may be approached by shop owners and street vendors offering their goods to you on regular occasions.
Summer temperatures in Morocco can be uncomfortably hot, especially for those who aren't accustomed to the heat, so please consider what time of year you travel with this in mind. If you do travel in the warmer months, pack layers to cover you from the sun, bring the necessary sun protection and drink plenty of water. The desert can also get cold at night, so bring base layers and warm clothing.
We have sourced our accommodation very carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel, but please note that service and accommodation in Morocco may be different to western standards.
This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Real Morocco or Epic Morocco.
Itinerary
A coastal discovery of some of Morocco’s most epic spots – enjoy sun, surf and exploration
Morocco might make you think of big, busy markets and even bigger deserts, but there’s so much more to this exciting country in north-western Africa than first meets the eye. Take a five-day adventure to some of Morocco’s most colourful spots, with time to check out some of the country's best beaches and maybe catch a wave (or five) along the way. Taghazout is a magnet for Moroccan chillers thanks to some A-grade Atlantic surf, and the seaside town of Essaouira is made for kicking back and soaking up some cultural vibes. Check out some of Morocco’s best-kept secrets, like the cool beach-side towns where popular musicians spent time in the 60s, and hunt for the best rooftop bars in Marrakech in your free time to watch the sunset over Djemaa el-Fna. This relaxing but highlight-packed introduction to Morocco is sure to leave you wanting more.

Short Morocco tour was an insanely good mini break, Mohamed made us feel well looked after while also keeping up the sense of adventure and teaching us loads about Marrakech and the other cities - will definitely be coming back!

This was a brilliant trip. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe at every stage. There was a perfect mix of cultural and sporting activities. Our tour leader Rachid was fantastic.

I really enjoyed my trip, I had a lovely group and a lovely tour guide Abdel who made it all very easy. It was a great way as a solo traveller to see some of morroco, the surf lesson was definitely a highlight and we ended up having quite a few group dinners which I really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend.
