Is this trip right for you?
verified
This is an active trip with several days of point to point hiking. You only carry a day pack, with your main bags (and for any non-hikers) being transferred by vehicle between villages. There are two nights of multi-share stays in the local villages we visit.
verified
Some of the best scenery in Fiji is found on hikes. So, while this trip doesn't require a high level of fitness, it’s essential to be at least moderately fit and be able to hike regularly if you want to partake in all activities. All travellers will need to be competent swimmers to take part in the rafting section of this trip.
verified
As we focus on visiting less explored parts of Fiji, there is limited beach time on our itinerary. If you are interested in classic Fiji we recommend spending a few extra days before or after your tour enjoying the beaches and snorkelling in the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands, a boat ride from Nadi.

Part of travelling with Tuuur means respecting local cultures and sensibilities. That way you get the most out of your interactions with local people and environments. We ask for you to please be aware of cultural considerations when entering and staying in local villages. Your tour leader and local guides will assist with local etiquette.
verified
As we stay in some locations where there are few options for eating out, some meals may be set menus rather than being able to choose from a variety of options. Some accommodation options have limited numbers of different room types, so not everyone may have the same room style.

Fiji is an incredibly beautiful country but this trip is unique in what it offers. Not a typical “touristy” tour but we actually get an opportunity to live with locals, learn Fijian culture and share stories over kavas and delicious home cooked meals. Does get a little outside of routine comfort zone but well worth it!
Shout out to Jake and Ben, were the best tour guides anyone can ever ask for. They went above and beyond, making sure that we were safe at all times while also having fun in the trip.
I’ve been on other intrepid tours before but this one was a truly magical experience

This trip was amazing from start to finish. A wonderful itinerary, exceptional trip leaders and full of experiences beyond the typical Fiji tourist resorts. This was a real adventure and got off the beaten path. The trip leaders Ben and Jake’s enthusiasm, passion and willing to share their country with us along with the hospitality in the local villages made this trip so special. A fun active way to experience Fiji.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and would recommend it without hesitation. It gave a fascinating look into the real Fiji.
Our local guides were simply excellent. They were constantly looking out for us, working hard behind the scenes to ensure we had a good time, putting our needs and safety first. This was one of the best organised tours I have been on.
The trip was very informative, with the guides providing an interesting insight into the areas we visited, showing us the real Fiji that you do not see on the normal tourist trail. This was done by going into the heart of the country, by staying in remote villages with local people and going into areas where tourists would not normally go. This allowed us to see the Fijians for who they really are and not what you see in the hotels or brochures, showing us a country that I found to be rich in culture, family values, history and a very friendly place to visit. For example, when you think of Fiji, you think of beaches and sea, not the remote highland forest areas we went to or the villagers we met.
What I loved most though was how our guides emphasized the importance of the ecosystem and environment to the Fijian culture, giving me a personal connection to them with regards to climate change and the need to be sustainable in how we live and travel.
The highlights to me were many indeed, including:
* Walking, drinking, eating, and interacting with the local people.
* The walk to the Savulelele waterfall, then walking under it, and swimming around it.
* Staying in the local village before doing the 11 km hike into Nubutautau village in the highlands.
* The walking tour of Suva town.
The 11 km walk is hard but worth it, and I would recommend that you bring gaiters and a strong set of walking shoes / boots. It is a technical off track walk, that I would only recommend for experienced hikers, that in parts can be tiring as it involves scrambling over rocks, crossing rivers and elevation gain. That said, the guides were very good at keeping the group together, which consisted of varied ages and fitness levels. I would also recommend that you bring with you some water sandals / footwear for the beaches and white-water rafting.
If you are not able to do any of the activities, then don't worry, the guides will find something else for you to do while the main group are away.
Overall I am a very happy customer and look forward to going back to Fiji to discover more that this treasure has to offer.

Everything about this trip was amazing. There was such a great variety of activities and experiences, particularly the opportunity to stay in local Fijian villages. The Intrepid guides, Jake and Ben, were exceptional. They went above and beyond. Fiji is now firmly in one of my favourite places I have ever travelled.

An amazing trip for someone looking to spend more time outdoors. There is a great mixture of water-based and land activities, and the village visits at the end really tie the whole trip together well.

The guides Jake and Ben we had on this trip were truly guardians of Fiji’s natural and cultural heritage. We witnessed their commitment not just to us as tourists in their care..but also their commitment and relationships with the communities and villages we visited. They are truly impressive men.

Both our guides Jake and Ben were so lovely and welcoming. They were full of knowledge and could answer or provide information on almost any question you had.
This was my first trip to Fiji as well as overseas in general, and it was a great first trip as everyone was friendly and the itinerary showed the more authentic side of Fiji. Would definitely recommend
