Is this trip right for you?

There is quite a bit of walking involved in visiting Jordan's historic sites, especially in Petra and Wadi Rum, so a reasonable level of fitness is required. Most of the time there is no shade so remember to bring a hat, sun protection, and sturdy, comfortable walking shoes.
verified
The diversity of the seasons here makes for incredible scenery, but the weather in this region can be unpredictable. It’s best to wear layers at all times of the year in case conditions change during the day. At night the temperature can really drop, so bring your warm clothes. Camping can be especially cold at the start and end of the season. Even in the warmer months, the temperature can be low in the mountains.
verified
The desert camp in Wadi Rum is basic. There are tents and shared western bathroom facilities. Please be aware that while the desert may be very hot during the day, it will still be cool at night and warm clothes and a sleeping bag is highly recommended when travelling outside of the summer months. Despite this, the warm Bedouin hospitality and chance to be out under the stars certainly makes up for the camp’s simplicity.

This trip was truly one of the best trips I have ever, ever been on. I don’t know where to start or if this review can even do it justice. From start to finish the itinerary ran so smoothly, from getting picked up at the airport in Jordan to leaving via an arranged return transfer to the airport by Intrepid. Our tour guide Omar made the experience incredible, he is one of a kind and taught us so much about the wonderful country. His love of Jordan and love for people was inspiring. Some people may be sceptical about booking a trip to Jordan due to safety but there is absolutely no need. The place is so peaceful and the locals are truly a gift to this planet. They are respectful, heartwarming and were so kind to us. The history of Jordan is fascinating and Omar taught us so much each day at each location we went too. We saw so much and learnt a lot.

An unforgettable experience - 10/10. One of my favourite Intrepid trips to date. Yazan (our guide) was superb, offering deep knowledge and a real passion for Jordan. The trip included unique experiences, especially camping in Wadi Rum, and a very helpful and unique guided tour of Petra. Overall, a stunning location and a beautiful country - would definitely recommend
