Trip Informations
On this nine-day journey, say hello to the Southern Balkans. Steeped in medieval history, overflowing with colourful towns and blessed with a glistening coastline, this area has so much to see and do. From Dubrovnik, you’ll head to bucket list location Corfu – a Greek island where battle zones, beaches, bunkers and bars are all rolled together. Discover Ulcinj and its medieval delights, explore the political history of Albania’s capital Tirana, lay beachside on the Albanian Riviera and try the local coffee in Gjirokaster with your new mates. Is this a whirlwind adventure or a slice of paradise?
Why you’ll love this trip
Visit the seldom-visited Gjirokaster in Albania and get your caffeine fix with a taste of the local Turkish coffee made ‘on the stone’ with a local guide.
Head to the Albanian Riviera and float in the sparkling waters of Himare’s hidden coves. Go on a speed boat tour to Pirate’s Cave and take refreshing swims in the coastal waters. Then, kick back in Corfu – one of Greece’s famed islands.
Discover the walled cities of Kotor and the coastal town of Ulcinj, teeming with history from a bygone era. With a local leader who knows all the hotspots and heaps of free time to wander on your own, you’re bound to find all the best bits!
Descend into one of the world’s most peculiar contemporary art museums in Tirana – housed in an underground bunker built for the Albanian political elite.
Walk the walls of the Old City of medieval Dubrovnik and spot the film locations that have been used in worldwide blockbusters (if you loved Game of Thrones, this place might look a little familiar).
Is this trip right for you?
Summer temperatures can be extreme in many regions visited (over 40°C), which can be uncomfortable. It’s essential to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability for that season. Please note that only some of your hotels will have air conditioning, and it’s virtually non-existent on public transport.
Hotels in this region often don't have double beds. Rooms can be rather small and in most cases bathroom facilities will be shared rather than ensuite.
As this trip only has limited time in Dubrovnik and Corfu, we highly recommend staying a few extra days before or after your tour to enjoy all these amazing destinations have to offer.
This trip is a great way to see a lot in a short period of time, but if you have more time to enjoy this region you might like to check out One Week in the Greek Islands.

The trip was very well organized and we felt comfortable and safe for the hole time. Our guide Lucija was very friendly, good in communication and she had some great tips for us for our freetime between group activities. In general the travel pace was pleasant and the destinations and accommodations were well choosen.

This tour was perfect! I got to see and learn so much about the Balkan region in a relatively short time. The accommodations were beautiful (especially the home stay!), the activities were all enjoyable, and our leader Mia was so wonderful! I would recommend this tour 1000%!

A great introduction to the Southern Balkans, enhanced by the energy and knowledge of Marija. We really enjoyed the balance of group and individual time on the trip. It's definitely a great starting point for the region, if it's your first time. Transportation was perfect, itinerary was well organized, and the group dynamics were the cherry on top.

Great trip, Albania was so much more magical then I could imagine. Tour leader Mia was the greatest guide with personal bulkan living experience which made the trip and culture more embedded for our experience

I truly cannot express enough how incredible this trip was and don't know where to even begin. Each destination on this trip is absolutely gorgeous and filled with fun things to do and learn. The food alone is phenomenal. This was my first solo trip and I loved getting to meet so many amazing people from all over the world (my group members were the best). Our leader, Petar, made the trip even better by ensuring everything went perfectly as well as all his knowledge and fun stories. I left this trip with seven new friends and so many memories I'll have for a lifetime. You will not regret booking this trip.
