Is this trip right for you?
verified
Travelling on a felucca (traditional wooden boat) is awesome, but it's not for everyone. You will be sharing a sleeping area with your fellow group members for the night and a shared bathroom facility. You'll sleep outside under the stars on a simple mattress, with some bedding provided. If you do feel the cold, you should consider bringing a sleeping bag.
verified
The walkways around many Egyptian ruins can be uneven, dusty and rocky, so be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes. At large sites such as Valley of the Kings, you can also expect to be walking in the elements for most of the day, so adequate sun protection is essential.
verified
Some hotels in Egypt may not have lifts. You may need to climb stairs with your luggage to reach your hotel room for the night.
verified
Temperatures in the Egypt can be extreme, ranging from very hot to very cold, depending on the season – it can even snow in some places! Layers will come in handy for sun protection as well as warmth.
verified
Overnight train journeys are a fast way to cross long distances, better for the environment and a great travel experience. You will share two-berth air-conditioned cabins, with all bedding provided and western style toilets on board.

As has been the case on previous trips, Intrepid delivered a fantastic tour (Ahmed A. our tour guide was incredible) and a great experience for all of us. The group agreed unanimously that the tour was a success and well worth it, getting to see and experience the best of Egypt. Traveling Egypt alone would be difficult. Thank you Intrepid, we will be using you again in the future, for sure.

What made our trip much more special was that we were lucky to have had such a dedicated, polite, kind, concerned and very intelligent guide! So the main praise goes to the guide Muhammad Abd El-Moneim
Mohammad is a person who worked hard to acquire so much knowledge and teach us everything he learned with so much affection, attention and empathy.
and the most important thing was his admirable professionalism, he made us feel loved, safe, always concerned with providing us with the best experience possible!
This is Pamela and Fabrício’s assessment, from Brazil

My first Intrepid trip and it was brilliant. The tour guide was amazing and so knowledgeable. I feel I experienced a great mix of real, authentic Egypt as well as the touristy parts of the country. Would definitely go again with Intrepid.
