Trip Informations
Uncover the very best of East Africa on this 10-day journey from Nairobi, Kenya. Travel to some of the country’s most famous areas including the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, where you'll take multiple game drives in search of the Big Five animals and more. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, impalas, wildebeest, leopards, giraffes, antelope and varied birdlife. Take in the enormity of Africa's largest lake and spend time with the local Maasai warriors and Hadzabe people to learn about their ancient traditions and modern way of life from an elder in the communities. With overnight stays in the middle of the national parks, stargazing opportunities, and local connections – this is the trip of a lifetime.

Is this trip right for you?
verified
No two journeys in Africa are identical. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts, and unforgettable moments along the way.
verified
Staying in a permanent tented camp in the Serengeti National Park, with no barriers between you and the animals, is amazing, but it's important to heed the safety advice of your leader.
verified
This is a 4WD overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in 4WD vehicles, visiting remote communities and world-renowned wildlife parks. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie.
verified
There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
verified
The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider. All activities are subject to availability.

One of the best trips I have ever done! So many meals and activities included, the tour guides and drivers were amazing and so knowledgeable. The wildlife was incredible, we saw the Big 5 and the guides knew exactly how to make that happen. Could not recommend this trip more!

Don't bother with the rest, go with the best. This was my second trip with Intrepid and I couldn't rate it highly enough. The perfect mix of fun and quality without a ridiculous price tag. The unique visits they do as part of the link into local communities make the trips quite remarkable.

Phenomenal experience! This was my first time traveling with Intrepid, and first time traveling with a tour group. All I can say is, the bar has been set incredibly high! From our fabulous guides and drivers to unforgettable experiences, I cannot recommend enough.

One of the best trips I have ever been on, great itinerary with so many spots covering both Kenya and Tanzania. I loved how it combined many safari days in Maasai Mara and Serengeti, with cultural tribe village visits. We had great drivers and the best tour leader, Alex (request him for your trip, you won't regret it!!). Very knowledgeable, passionate and clearly loves what he does.

Highly recommend Intrepid for Kenya/ Tanzania tour :Maasai Mara and Serengeti National reserve with permanent tent stay is a memorable and fantastic experience that you will never forget. Seeing the big Five animals and the Wildebeest migration was breathtaking. Enjoyed meeting the Maasai and Hadzabe bushmen tribe in their community greeting us with song and dance and involved our group to dance with them and experience their way of life.
This is once in a lifetime opportunity to experience wildlife and nature up close. We will never forget this as we were also celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Making memories we shall cherish forever.
