Is this trip right for you?

This trip involves travel on public transport, covering long distances and consequently some long days of travel. Long-distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between December and February. Some patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment here. Sit back, relax and watch the scenery go by – a book or podcast doesn’t go astray.

We do our best to estimate travel times, but these can often change. That's just how it is in these parts and as a result, there's not as much free or independent time as on some other trips.
verified
Nepal and north India can get surprisingly cold in winter, please be prepared and pack accordingly. Speaking of the weather, it also has the potential to be very hot, depending on the season. Please make sure you check seasonal weather guides and pick a travel time that suits your comfort level.

We've sourced our accommodation carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel. Service and accommodation in India may be different from Western standards.

The stories are true, India is overwhelming but also how lovely to be inundated by colours, smells, wonderful food and impressive temples and palaces. Nepal positively surprised me as in it is a bit more laidback, very friendly and yes there are a lot of monkeys at the monkey temple. Very enjoyable!

An excellent trip from Delhi to Kathmandu, spiritual, cultural and great fun! Fabulous people and memories to last a lifetime. Chaos in the cities but then temples, tranquility and tall mountains.

We merged this trip with the golden triangle trip which worked well. It’s a safe environment to explore the fantastic people culture, food, wildlife and religious aspects of the India and Nepal. We enjoyed the colours, sounds and tastes this trip had to offer. The trip is a good balance of the busy cities and quieter more relaxing rural villages and river cruise. We definitely want to see more of Nepal and India after this trip.
