Is this trip right for you?

This trip involves travel on public transport, covering long distances and consequently some long days of travel. Long-distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between December and February. Some patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment here. Sit back, relax and watch the scenery go by – a book or podcast doesn’t go astray.

We do our best to estimate travel times, but these can often change. That's just how it is in these parts and as a result, there's not as much free or independent time as on some other trips.
verified
Nepal and north India can get surprisingly cold in winter, please be prepared and pack accordingly. Speaking of the weather, it also has the potential to be very hot, depending on the season. Please make sure you check seasonal weather guides and pick a travel time that suits your comfort level.

We've sourced our accommodation carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel. Service and accommodation in India may be different from Western standards.
Itinerary
Catch a glimpse into the spirit of everyday life in India and Nepal

Incredible trip from Dalhi to Kathmandu! April was hot, but our leader Surya kept us well hydrated and looked after us. Great variety of food options too. A real highlight for many—definitely worth doing. Highly recommend!

Amazing and eye opening tour. I had my expectations and apprehensions, it exceeded my expectations and I had nothing to be worried about. Wish I knew ahead of time— you only need your visa for arriving in India. You do not need to do a thing for a Nepal visa.

This year my son booked a trip for both he and myself to India and Nepal. Both of us have travelled extensively and debated about having a guided tour. The intrepid tour didn’t disappoint. Our guide Madan Singh was brilliant and the group of travellers were just as good. It was a brilliant holiday. Thanks Intrepid!!

Trip of a lifetime!
The colours, the food, the people, the scenery, the culture- fantastic. I felt incredibly safe with our guide Dinesh, he went out of his way to show us the beauty of India and Nepal, in all its forms. Do not hesitate to go to India; do not miss its beauty!

This trip exceeded my expectations! From nitty, gritty alley ways to the grandeur of the Taj Mahal! Consider yourself lucky if you get Olivia as your tour guide who loves sharing her country. I have a great appreciation for Intrepid now and how they support and give back to the communities they travel through. Well done Intrepid!

My husband and I had a wonderful time exploring India and Nepal on the Delhi to Kathmandu trip. We learned so much about both fascinating countries including a lot about Hinduism and Buddhism.

If you want to see and experience the real India and Nepal this tour is for you. A true grassroots experience, so be prepared for a physical, mental and spiritual journey amongst the realities of both countries, especially India.
It was a privilege. Nameste
