Trip Informations
What’s the best way to explore South East Asia? From a bicycle, of course! With the wind in your (helmet-covered) hair and the tropical breeze on your face, this 13-day cycling adventure will take you through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Cycle out of busy Ho Chi Minh City and venture through the Mekong Delta, past riverside villages and alongside paddies. From bustling city streets, experience local culture in rural villages and rub shoulders with your hosts at a local homestay in the Mekong Delta. Walk and cycle around the UNESCO World Heritage site of the ancient Angkor complex and see countless temples, rice fields and villages as you uncover new landscapes. After long days of riding (with an average of 60 km a day), you’re sure to work up an appetite for the region’s best food (and a couple of cold beers) – it’s all about balance, right?
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk and cycle through the ancient Angkor Wat complex – a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important archaeological sites in South East Asia. Covered in lush greenery, you’ll explore various temples on two legs and two feet!
Cycle through ever changing landscapes, rice paddies and small villages through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand – the best way to explore local life is on the back of a bicycle, after all!
Indulge in all your Southeast Asian favourites – this region is famous for its delicious cuisine for a reason! After days of cycling, you’ll work up an appetite for countless dishes of Bahn mi, pho, fish amok and pad Thai and your leader will know all the best spots.
Explore the Mekong Delta with a full day of riding and then be treated to a homecooked meal by your homestay hosts – the best way to get to know the locals!
Wake up at sunrise to see the local Buddhist monks from nearby temples who come to receive food from the villagers in exchange for blessings. Then, spend the rest of the day cycling through the small district of Kabinburi.
Is this trip right for you?
To complete this trip, it’s important that you’re both confident and competent in riding a bicycle.
You’ll be cycling for up to 70 km per day on varied terrain, so you’ll need to be reasonably fit to enjoy and complete all activities. There will be a support vehicle on this trip if you need a break.
The weather in South East Asia can be varied. Be prepared to get sweaty and for the occasional rain storm, which may require a change of plans.
This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Cycle South East Asia trip.

An amazing trip through 3 countries from a rural perspective. We learned so much about traditions, history and cuisine. Our fitness and bike riding skills improved with the challenges. There was a good balance of everything.

I really enjoyed this trip. The guides always made sure we were well cared for and tried to educate us about their countries. Accommodations were excellent. Make sure you are in decent cycling shape. The bikes are decent but do not expect top of the line equipment. We learned so much about Bietnam and Cambodia. The time in Thailand was too short to really see much. And the people were lovely.

If you are thinking of doing the South East Asia cycling tour definitely put it on your bucket list. So many lovely backroad experiences, many local meals in very small villages, homestays and great food. The sense of achievement also after riding from Hanoi via Siagon/ Ho Chi Minh City, parts of Cambodia and Thailand add to the knowledge that you have seen parts of these countries that the average tourist will never see.

The cycling trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand was excellent. The local guides were very approachable and extremely knowledgeable. We had a group of 10 people and we are got on very well. Spending time with the other group members was an enjoyable part of the trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone. Elizabeth Williams

I just finished the 27-day trip. What a literal ride. Every day was different: terrain, topography, landscape, weather, level of difficulty. Thankful for great local teams for their professionalism, support, care, and camaraderie. I wish I could go back in time and do this again 😍
