Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk and cycle through the ancient Angkor Wat complex – a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important archaeological sites in South East Asia. Covered in lush greenery, you’ll explore various temples on two legs and two feet!
Cycle through ever changing landscapes, rice paddies and small villages through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand – the best way to explore local life is on the back of a bicycle, after all!
Indulge in all your Southeast Asian favourites – this region is famous for its delicious cuisine for a reason! After days of cycling, you’ll work up an appetite for countless dishes of Bahn mi, pho, fish amok and pad Thai and your leader will know all the best spots.
Explore the Mekong Delta with a full day of riding and then be treated to a homecooked meal by your homestay hosts – the best way to get to know the locals!
Wake up at sunrise to see the local Buddhist monks from nearby temples who come to receive food from the villagers in exchange for blessings. Then, spend the rest of the day cycling through the small district of Kabinburi.
Is this trip right for you?
To complete this trip, it’s important that you’re both confident and competent in riding a bicycle.
You’ll be cycling for up to 70 km per day on varied terrain, so you’ll need to be reasonably fit to enjoy and complete all activities. There will be a support vehicle on this trip if you need a break.
The weather in South East Asia can be varied. Be prepared to get sweaty and for the occasional rain storm, which may require a change of plans.
This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Cycle South East Asia trip.
Itinerary
Hop on two wheels and see the authentic side of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand
What’s the best way to explore South East Asia? From a bicycle, of course! With the wind in your (helmet-covered) hair and the tropical breeze on your face, this 13-day cycling adventure will take you through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Cycle out of busy Ho Chi Minh City and venture through the Mekong Delta, past riverside villages and alongside paddies. From bustling city streets, experience local culture in rural villages and rub shoulders with your hosts at a local homestay in the Mekong Delta. Walk and cycle around the UNESCO World Heritage site of the ancient Angkor complex and see countless temples, rice fields and villages as you uncover new landscapes. After long days of riding (with an average of 60 km a day), you’re sure to work up an appetite for the region’s best food (and a couple of cold beers) – it’s all about balance, right?

Excellent cycling trip around 3 countries. Superb leaders, especially Maled and his Thai team. Snacks were plentiful and excellent. Great to spend time in Cambodia. Siem Reep a particular favourite. Cycling was broken down into manageable segments due to the extreme heat and humidity which suited us as a group. Highly recommended as a way of seeing these wonderful countries. A moderate level of cycling fitness is needed for this trip.

Fabulous trip. Great combination of city life, get away from the tourist route countryside and local life and stunning Anghor Wat on a bike. What’s not to like? Oh and the food. Delicious in all 3 countries

A wonderful trip. Bike riding is the best way to see a country (3 countries!). The Intrepid team took all the stress out of travel and kept us safe, relaxed and having a wonderful trip. I particularly appreciated our lead guide’s local knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing his culture and history. This is our second Intrepid bike trip and we are already planning our third.

Maled was a great leader cycling through 3 SE Asia countries. March weather was hot and humid and he and his crew made sure we kept hydrated. Definitely recommend the trip if Angkor Wat is on your bucket list.

I did this trip as part of the Vietnam trip and would highly recommend that if you have the time. These three countries are very different and it us a great way to be able to experience them this way.

As a single woman, this was a big trip but it couldn’t have gone any better. So well organised with great local teams on board and amazing experiences and sights to see along the way - and a great group to do it with too. Loved every moment!
