Why you’ll love this trip
Walk and cycle through the ancient Angkor Wat complex – a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important archaeological sites in South East Asia. Covered in lush greenery, you’ll explore various temples on two legs and two feet!
Cycle through ever changing landscapes, rice paddies and small villages through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand – the best way to explore local life is on the back of a bicycle, after all!
Indulge in all your Southeast Asian favourites – this region is famous for its delicious cuisine for a reason! After days of cycling, you’ll work up an appetite for countless dishes of Bahn mi, pho, fish amok and pad Thai and your leader will know all the best spots.
Explore the Mekong Delta with a full day of riding and then be treated to a homecooked meal by your homestay hosts – the best way to get to know the locals!
Wake up at sunrise to see the local Buddhist monks from nearby temples who come to receive food from the villagers in exchange for blessings. Then, spend the rest of the day cycling through the small district of Kabinburi.

Itinerary
Hop on two wheels and see the authentic side of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand
What’s the best way to explore South East Asia? From a bicycle, of course! With the wind in your (helmet-covered) hair and the tropical breeze on your face, this 13-day cycling adventure will take you through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Cycle out of busy Ho Chi Minh City and venture through the Mekong Delta, past riverside villages and alongside paddies. From bustling city streets, experience local culture in rural villages and rub shoulders with your hosts at a local homestay in the Mekong Delta. Walk and cycle around the UNESCO World Heritage site of the ancient Angkor complex and see countless temples, rice fields and villages as you uncover new landscapes. After long days of riding (with an average of 60 km a day), you’re sure to work up an appetite for the region’s best food (and a couple of cold beers) – it’s all about balance, right?

This is an EXCELLENT bike trip-- and hardly any hills-- only the last 2 days had some, but not many! We would start the riding at 7:30AM to avoid as much time in the blazing sun as we could. The stops we made at the villages were fascinating! We saw how these things were made: silk scarves, baskets, brooms, tofu skins, palm products (wooden utensils, palm sugar), coconut candy, puffed rice, rubber... everywhere we went we got explanations and got to sample the fruits of their labor! Riding between 20 and 50 miles a day was EASY because of the lack of hills, the good terrain (mostly!), and the incredible snacks provided to us by the local teams every 8 miles or so. The cities were INCREDIBLE-- bustling and thriving, with lots of entertainment options for us. It was an excellent trip planned with perfect organization and AMAZING tour guides.

As a single woman, this was a big trip but it couldn’t have gone any better. So well organised with great local teams on board and amazing experiences and sights to see along the way - and a great group to do it with too. Loved every moment!

I had a fantastic time on this trip. I'm not a seasoned cyclist so was a little worried about some of the longer days, but we'd stop for breaks about every 10-20kms, so the distance never feels too stenuous provided you've done a little distance training. My main tip is to bring a padded seat cover if possible. The roads can be pretty rocky, so even the more experienced cyclists in our group struggled with seat pain. Overall the trip was the right blend of cycling, local tours and free time to explore the local sights.

This trip is a great way to get into the countryside and villages. The bikes were comfortable and the pace was relaxed. I always felt safe. The rest stops were at manageable distances and the food at the stops was incredible.

The Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand Cycling Tour was one of the greatest experiences I have had. Cycling through these countries is a far better way of seeing and experiencing the country compared to travelling on a tour bus. Don't be deterred by the distances listed on the itinerary as these are broken down to 10, 15 or 20km sections over relatively flat terrain. With some preparation these distances and the whole days cycling is manageable. My preparation was cycling up to 40/45km about 5 times pre-fortnight leading up to the tour. The support crews and tour leaders in each country go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience available. TIP: bring your own seat like I did.
