Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Cycling allows you to get closer to authentic Morocco, whether you're riding around the backstreets of Marrakech or stopping for tea with nomads in the Mgoun Valley.
Ride a camel through the dramatic red dunes of the Sahara Desert at sunset, then settle into your camp and enjoy a Moroccan feast under the stars.
Pedal through Morocco’s diverse terrain, from the lively medinas and the Mediterranean Coast to the iconic hairpins of the Dades Gorge.
Step back in time to the Middle Ages on a guided walk through the secret shortcuts and twisting alleyways of Fes’ Medina with a local leader who knows all the best spots.
End rewarding days in the saddle with hearty local meals, like the traditional goat dinner in Mgoun Valley and street food delicacies in Djemaa el-Fna.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, Education for All. Donations help them support girls in the High Atlas Mountains through secondary school, bringing a generation of women out of the cycle of illiteracy, poverty and early marriage.
Is this trip right for you?
To enjoy this trip, it’s important that you’re both confident and competent in riding a bicycle. An e-bike option is available. There are some long inclines, so a good level of cycling fitness is required. You always have the option to use the included support vehicle at any time for your comfort.
Accommodation on this trip includes a mountain gite (a desert camp) and basic hotels.
Transport on this trip includes an overnight train journey. Details on this mode of transport can be found in the Important Notes section.
When travelling in Morocco, temperatures can get incredibly hot in summer and surprisingly cool in winter. Have a think about what time of year suits you best to travel.
Itinerary
Explore medieval medinas and cross mountain passes on a Moroccan cycling adventure
Desert sands, snow-capped mountains, green valleys, red cliff gorges and seaside paths – you'll explore them all on this 14-day cycling tour through Morocco. Discover a land overflowing with mystery, history and culture, a place where the people welcome you with endless stories and the landscape offers endless diversity. Ride to beaches, deserts, forests, mountains and orchards, from Marrakesh through to Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes and the High Atlas Mountains. Ride a camel at sunset (the best seat in the house) as the heat of the Sahara cools and discover the ancient city of Ait Benhaddou (the filming location of many movies and TV shows). What’s the best way to see a land of ever-changing landscapes? On two wheels, of course!

Important notes
1. It is very important that you provide your height at time of booking so we can ensure that you have the appropriate sized bicycle when your trip starts. If you do not provide your height ahead of arrival we cannot guarantee a suitably sized bike for you.
2. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip apart from overnight train (1 night), desert camp (1 night), and gite (1 night), and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
3. Bicycle hire is included in your trip price. Please advise your height at time of booking that we can ensure a suitable sized bike is arranged.
4. An e-bike option (at additional cost) may be available on this trip. We have limited numbers of these bikes available and they are an 'on request' basis only. A request does not guarantee an e-bike, only a confirmed booking. Please ask your agent for more details at the time of booking.

7. There's an overnight train on Day 2 of the trip. The train has four-berth couchette compartments with upper and lower bunks on each side, so you may be sharing a confined space with people outside of your travel group. this train is occasionally cancelled at very late notice, meaning we take a minivan instead.

Morocco is great, the trip took us to fantastic places, the leader was excellent. However, a cycle trip is reliant on the bike. The bikes varied from decent (mine) to virtually unridable (my wife's). Bring your own bike, get an e-bike, or hope Intrepid services the bikes.

Morocco is a great destination for a cycle tour. Be prepared for challenging cycling days in the mountains. Our Intrepid guide Mohamed Inti was great.

We wouldn't have gone to Morocco if it weren't for the Intrepid 2 week cycling tour which pricked our sense of adventure. In a small group we had company to experience the delights of Moroccan food, old walled medinas, and the vast agricultural wonderland from the bike but also from the bus which transported us between the scenic rides. The guides really looked after us and it was a lovely group.

Mohamed was the most informative, communicative and enthusiastic guide I have had the pleasure of meeting. He managed our large group seamlessly, catering to varied needs. His love of his country added to the depth of our experience.

The Intrepid Cycle Morocco tour was absolutely fantastic. I’m 63 years old and took on the challenge of getting bike fit for this tour. I have one regret: that it had to come to an end. The Intrepid crew were terrific and looked after us at all times. Most of all, Morocco has been revealed to me as an incredibly beautiful and diverse country.

Morocco is best seen by bike. The landscapes are unbelievably big and beautiful. I could never get enough of the contrasts of the houses set in the rocky formations and cultivated green valleys below. The bike ride was full of adventure and local activities that we all enjoyed. Totally memorable.

An unforgettable cycling tour through Morocco—breathtaking, unexpected scenery at every turn. Our guide, Mohamed, was exceptional, balancing support and insight perfectly. The challenging routes pushed us, but the camaraderie of a fantastic group made it all worthwhile. A truly enriching and exhilarating adventure from start to finish.

This tour was worth its weight in gold. I have recommended it to friends who love to cycle, travel to an exotic destination and who enjoy meeting others. The guides were so kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour.

Cycle Morocco exceeded our expectations! Amazing scenery, people and culture. So much to take in and no better way than on a bike! One highlight was the off road day where we had tea in a cave/home if a nomadic family. Amazing!
