Trip Informations
Pop on your helmet and cycle along the stunning coastlines and the hilly outcrops of the Dalmatian Coast on this seven-day cycling adventure. Ride to islands of olive groves and cypress forests to sparkling beaches and wander romantic cities full of history. Croatia is the perfect setting for an idyllic island escape and how better to explore than on a bicycle? Wander Hvar’s cobbled lanes, Korcula’s small town streets, Split’s harbour esplanade and Dubrovnik’s medieval walls. Explore Hvar Island at your own pace, take an optional wine tasting experience, watch the sunset over the harbour and ride to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stari Grad Plain. Croatia has so much beauty to see, so why not see it all up close, on two wheels?
Why you’ll love this trip
Cycle across the largest island of the Dalmatia region – Brac. With its cypress forests, orange and olive trees and glowing white pebble beaches, this area couldn’t be a more beautiful place to go riding.
Soak up a full day to explore Hvar Island at your own pace – why not check out the Hvar Spanjola fortress, go on a short hike or relax by one of the sparkling bays, it’s up to you!
Enjoy a group picnic and an optional wine tasting experience after your scenic ride through the verdant Peljesac isthmus – a hilly Croatian peninsula jutting into the Adriatic.
Spend your days cycling and your nights relaxing. Treat yourself to harbourside dinners, tastings, traditional cuisines and famed local wines in Bol, Hvar and Korcula.
Make your way to the medieval walls of Dubrovnik, and if you’ve got time, why not traverse to the top of Srd Hil and appreciate the view of Old Dubrovnik, its harbour and the azure Adriatic Sea.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, World Bicycle Relief. Donations provide school kids, health workers, and farmers in far-out areas with bicycles that provide access to education, healthcare, and income.
Is this trip right for you?
While the cycling distances on this trip aren’t too long (the longest ride is only 50 km) the terrain of the Dalmatian Coast is naturally hilly and the climate often warm. You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy the trip but remember we will always have the support vehicle on hand if you need to take a break for an hour or a day.
To complete this trip, it’s important that you’re both confident and competent in riding a bicycle.
On this trip, you’ll have a single leader who rides with the group and another who drives the support vehicle (acting as a ‘back marker’ where needed).
As your riding is done mostly on sealed roads with the occasional gravel cycle path there are no technical cycling skills required. Given there will be hills, we do suggest practicing riding downhill so you are comfortable with this once the trip begins.
As there are cobblestones and many stairs in most European towns, and space in our support van is limited, it's strongly recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead.
Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.
This trip is a great way to see a lot in a short period of time and it can be part of a longer itinerary if you have more time to explore. You might like to check out our Cycle Croatia & the Balkans trip.

Important notes
1. It is very important that you provide your height at time of booking so we can ensure that you have the appropriate sized bicycle when your trip starts. If you do not provide your height ahead of arrival we cannot guarantee a suitably sized bike for you.
2. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Day 1 (Split) where you will be in shared accommodation and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
3. Bicycle hire is included in your trip price. Please advise your height at time of booking so as we can organize a suitable sized bike.
4. Bike helmets are compulsory on this trip. We are unable to hire bike helmets locally so please ensure you bring your own bike helmet from home.
5. On this trip we have a single leader that rides with the group, and another that drives the support vehicle (acting as a back marker where needed). Where the vehicle cannot travel directly with the cyclists (e.g. a cyclists-only path) your leader will assign a person from the group to act as a back marker.
6. An e-bike option (at additional cost) may be available on this trip. We have limited numbers of these bikes available and they are an 'on request' basis only. Please ask your agent for more details at the time of booking.

Excellent trip! Cycling is a great way to see the country. I enjoyed the accommodations. They were small and basic but clean and nice to be among the town. They did have to separate the group at times into different hotels and I was disappointed that they separated our group that booked together. Other than that, we loved our guides and that they handled the logistics. Hills were challenging, so if you are not a conditioned cyclist, I recommend the e-bike. I now only want to travel by way of cycling!

A great way to see Croatia. The ride was physically challenging enough for those who enjoy riding uphill. Learned a lot about the history an geography of the region from our enthusiastic guide Mario and our driver Zuran.

Cycling Croatia was incredibly fun! Our tour leader Mario was amazing and really made the trip! It was no stress for the group as we knew when and where to be. It was structured but also lots of freedom to change as needs of group preferred. I rented an ebike and my husband used a regular bike. As an avid cyclist he was fine. Lots of climbing followed by downhills. It was our first tour ever and we highly recommend this bike tour. Thank you Mario and Zoran.

Our Cycle Croatia trip with Intrepid was absolutely incredible! The entire journey was so well-planned, and the logistics were perfectly handled—something we could never have managed on our own. From coordinating ferries and cycling up hills to arranging van rides and unique local experiences with the best guides around, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The blend of stunning landscapes, cultural immersion, and challenging yet rewarding cycling made for an unforgettable adventure. If you're looking for an active, well-organized trip with a perfect balance of physical activity and authentic experiences, this is it!

Cycle Croatia is an incredible way to see the country. You get to experience the best of a country with a diverse culture, architecture and lifestyle. The trip balances guided activities with free time so you can feel you have experienced the country in all its glory. I recommend bike training (or an e-bike).... Croatia is not flat!
