Trip Informations
Navigate the gorgeous coastline of Croatia in comfort on this small-ship adventure cruise from Split to Dubrovnik. Soak up the sun, sea and salty breeze as you sail through the waters of the Adriatic, exploring islands, rivers, beaches and towns. Start in the ancient city of Split and walk through colourful Brac, before setting sail southbound. Drop anchor in Hvar and venture up the River Neretva. Check out the UNESCO World Heritage-listed bridge in the town of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, wander through the romantic Old Town of Korcula and enjoy tastings at a local winery, then dock in the walled city of Dubrovnik – whether you’re a Game of Thrones fan or just looking for a beautiful place to explore, this is the perfect city to end in (and stay longer, if you can)!
Why you’ll love this trip
Sail up the Neretva River to Opuzen. Here, you’ll transfer to small, traditional boats and sail around the wetlands, making your way to a local restaurant on the water for Peka veal.
Taste some local olive oil at the local museum in Brac – the longest island in central Dalmatia – before exploring the island known for its white-pebbled beaches at your own pace.
Explore the beautiful town of Mostar – check out the town’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed bridge and see how traditional Bosnian coffee is made, followed by a sample of this local brew.
Spend more time exploring the beaches, architecture and dining experiences of the Croatian coast and less time on the boat with plenty of port stops and offshore activities.
Drop anchor in the middle of port towns like Hvar or Korcula and explore straight off the boat – one of the many benefits of small-ship cruising.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a small-ship adventure cruise, which means you’ll be sailing on a motor yacht with up to 35 other people. The boat is spacious and comfortable, but it focuses more on the destination than on-board activities. Instead of a pool, we have the sea and you’ll have time for swim stops most days. There’s also no formal dress code to worry about. Wi-fi is available on board.
Our boat moves under engine power rather than sailing, so all cabins will experience light engine noise when the boat is moving (and occasionally when we drop anchor). If you’re a light sleeper, it’s probably worth packing earplugs.
Unlike other ships that cruise through the night, we’ll spend our evenings docked at port. This will give you more time to dine ashore and enjoy those balmy Croatian evenings. Cruising will mostly take place during the day.
Onshore activities and excursions will involve a bit of walking. You’ll be visiting ancient sites and historical places, and at times you may have to cross cobbled streets and uneven ground, sometimes in hot conditions. If you have any concerns, please speak to your group leader before taking part.
If you’re sensitive to seasickness, talk to your doctor before the trip about medication – however, this yacht sails close to the coastline of Croatia in often sheltered areas, so choppy water is uncommon.
There are no lifts (elevators) on-board our boat, so you’ll have to navigate a few steep flights of stairs. Handrails are always available.

Absolutely amazing trip. If you like being on the water and in the water, then this trip is for you. Daily swim stops each morning to snorkel, swim, paddle board and play in the turquoise waters of the Adriatic. In the afternoons meet local growers and farmers keeping Croatian traditions alive! Local guides share history of towns and cities. The boat is beautiful, well maintained and captain and crew friendly and professional. Absolute best!

Our Trip to Croatia, aboard the Aurora, was an amazing experience. The ship itself was in pristine condition, the rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The Captain was incredibly professional and competent, and the crew was incredible as well. As for on board food, the Chef delighted us daily with his incredibly prepared local fares. The scenery, was just beautiful. The daily swims!!!!! An absolute passenger favorite, and the fellow passengers will likely become life long friends. Lastly, the group leaders, Flutra and Maria Christina, really helped make the journey the wonderful experience that it turned out to be. Way to go Intrepid!!!

Wonderful and relaxed trip with a perfect blend of swimming free time and exploring the port cities we visited. The boat crew and our tour leaders were amazing and made the trip even more fun. We learned about the beautiful culture, food, history, and customs in a way that is much more meaningful than just reading about it. Accommodations were comfortable and met our needs. By far the most special part of the trip was meeting people from all over the world who came together in our little group to experience this beautiful country. Just an amazing experience!

My Croatia cruising trip was an excellent mix of activities and relaxing time, while seeing areas of Croatia off the beaten track. The guides were knowledgeable and made it a great overall experience.

A great week trip for experiencing the major Croatian islands. Split to Dubrovnik is my recommendation for the best route. Good accommodation but bring earplugs.

Intrepid’s Croatian cruise has the best itinerary, coupled with lovely excursions. Tour Guides, crew and excursion hosts did everything to ensure a happy holiday with a noticeable focus on environmental issues.

Beautiful trip on the M/S Aurora. Book the main level room; will have a window to open, and a rail outside your door to hang items to dry. Boat crew was phenomenal; accommodating & friendly: Captain Toni, Sailors Antonio & Ivan (chef), Sous Chef David, Housekeeper Andrea, and last but not least, Viktorija & Isabella…professional, responsive & truly an asset to this ship: making the experience even more enjoyable & memorable. Intrepid crew: the 2 Daniela’s were knowledgeable, friendly & fun to doend our days with. Transport buses could use a boost re: air conditioning (felt a little warm on some excursions-bring a mini fan).

Excellent tour leaders, a great group atmosphere and a wonderful mix of iconic destinations and lesser-known places. Korcula was a particular highlight. The social connections and local experiences made this a memorable trip and reminded me of the value of group travel.

This trip was amazing. It provided a wonderful balance of relaxation, fun and sightseeing. We were taken to different places that the big cruise ships didn't go which made it extra special
