Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Sail up the Neretva River to Opuzen. Here, you’ll transfer to small, traditional boats and sail around the wetlands, making your way to a local restaurant on the water for Peka veal.
Discover Krka National Park, where you’ll get to see stunning waterfalls and secluded pools.
Drop anchor in the middle of port towns like Hvar or Korcula – while large cruise liners have to moor out at sea and commute into shore, you can hop on or off the boat as you please!
Dive into the aquamarine waters of the Dalmatian Coast. Weather permitting, your captain will be stopping the boat for regular swim breaks during the trip.
Take a detour to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. You’ll see the town’s iconic bridge and have the chance to watch a coffee demonstration.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a small-ship adventure cruise, which means you’ll be sailing on a motor yacht with up to 35 other people. The boat is spacious and comfortable, but it focuses more on the destination than on-board activities. Instead of a pool, we have the sea itself and you’ll stop for swim stops most days. There’s also no formal dress code to worry about. Wi-fi is available onboard.
Our boat moves under engine power, rather than sailing, so all cabins will experience light engine noise when the boatis moving (and occasionally when we drop anchor). It’s probably worth packing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
Unlike other ships that cruise through the night, we’ll spend our evenings docked at port. This will give you more time to dine ashore and enjoy those balmy Croatian evenings. Cruising will mostly take place during the day.
Onshore activities and excursions will involve a bit of walking. You’ll be visiting ancient sites and historical places, and at times you may have to cross cobbled streets and uneven ground, sometimes in hot conditions. If you have any concerns, please speak to your group leader before taking part.
If you’re sensitive to seasickness, talk to your doctor before the trip about medication – however, this yacht sails close to the coastline of Croatia in often sheltered areas, so choppy water is uncommon.
There are no lifts (elevators) on-board our boats, so you’ll have to navigate a few steep flights of stairs. Handrails are always available.
Itinerary
Discover the glittering Dalmatian coast aboard the Aurora
Imagine the sun warming you while you lean over the side of a boat, peacefully watching the clear water wash against the limestone cliffs and pebbly shores of Croatia. This eight-day small-ship cruise offers plenty of that idle relaxation, broken upwith exciting activities like a river cruise and a walk to the waterfalls of the Krka National Park. Take on expeditions like a winery trip near Korcula and get a taste of what the Dalmatian Coast has to offer, all with a local leader and group of likeminded travellers.

Croatian Cruising gives a snapshot of island life and history on the Adriatic Coast and inland regions. Join for fun times swimming off the boat, great food, island excursions and a chance to learn about Croatia's history and culture. Local guides complement the care taken by excellent onboard guides and crew.

If Croatia is on your go there list, this is the trip for you. From the cobblestone streets of Korčula that echo with klapa music, to the lavender-infused countryside of Hvar, and the heart-wrenchingly beautiful town of Mostar, Intrepid’s Coastal Croatian Cruise delivers the best of the Dalmatian Coast.

A fantastic small group cruise, with the best guides. We stayed away from the crowds, plenty of time on board to relax, including swimming/paddle boarding, and our shore excursions were varied and interesting. They brought us in contact with locals, either as local town guides, or to show us their own small businesses. We left knowing that we were appreciated and that we were helping the local economy, not just looking. There is a sense of really getting to know the places and people we visited, the history, culture, and current struggles and achievements. I recommend this trip, and thank Intrepid for their travel philosophy, and for providing such brilliant guides.

From the first to the last night, this trip was outstanding. The crew and leaders were fantastic. Swim stops, informative site tours and walk abouts, with a perfect amount of free time. We got experience things that the big boats couldn’t. Finally, our fellow passengers were all so nice!

As a first time group tour experience this was fantastic! We've always been disdainful of "boxed" travel but this was awesome. The leaders were wonderful, fellow travelers were varied and interesting - some first timers and some on their 6th or 7th tour, all enjoying every minute. We'll be back!

This trip was fantastic! The Croatian coastline is beautiful, the local food and wine is great, the guided tours were informative and interesting, and it was all a great experience. Ziggy and Dinko are wonderful - knowledgeable, friendly and well-organized; they really made it special. The boat Aurora is really comfortable and spacious, and the swim stops were amazing! Highly recommend this trip, a mix of relaxing and invigorating.
