Trip Informations
Take an unforgettable 17-day holiday in Thailand, journeying from the cultural heart of the north to the tropical paradise of the south. Discover traditional Hmong village life, cycle through ancient Sukhothai, wander through Bangkok’s bustling khlongs and markets and taste authentic Thai cooking. See Asian elephants in Chiang Mai and learn what’s being done to help them thrive, then head south to spot wild elephants in Kuiburi National Park. Meet locals at Ratchaburi’s floating market, learn about turtle conservation and explore the marine life around Koh Talu. Stay in a raft house on Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok and experience the warm hospitality of the Baan Khun Sake community on Koh Samui. Golden Buddhas, colourful hilltribe villages, clear blue waters, swaying palms and island life – you’ll experience the best of Thailand on one epic adventure.
Why you’ll love this trip
Get up close with Asian elephants at the ChangChill Conservation Reserve, spot wild elephants in Kui Buri National Park and explore Khao Sok’s rainforest, spotting wildlife on a traditional longtail boat and staying in a raft house on Cheow Lan Lake.
Stay with the Hmong community in the north and connect with the Khum Sa-ke community on Koh Samui as you learn about its sustainable farming and waste-management projects.
Learn to cook authentic Thai dishes with a local host in Sukhothai, discover the royal flavours of Phetchaburi and sample local tastes at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
Explore Bangkok’s Grand Palace, Kanchanaburi’s Hellfire Pass and Chiang Mai’s Doi Suthep, then cycle through the ancient ruins of Sukhothai Historical Park.
Take in the island life in a beach chalet on the private Koh Talu, with included stand-up paddle boarding, snorkelling and squid fishing. Then, visit their Turtle Conservation centre or just enjoy some blissful beach time.
Is this trip right for you?
There is an included bicycle ride around Sukhothai Heritage Park on this trip. It’s a leisurely cycle along quiet and flat roads, and one of the best ways to see the park.
Get your sea legs ready because this trip involves lots of travel by boat in the south. You'll need to be comfortable with water-related activities to make the most of the trip as you island-hop in Southern Thailand.
Some travels can be long but packed with fun experiences along the way, so be prepared for a couple of long journeys or early starts. There'll also be plenty of opportunity to just tap out and chill in your own time.
