Is this trip right for you?
verified
While there is no guarantee you will see a tiger during your safari in Ranthambhore, you may have a chance to see a variety of other wildlife, including hyenas, jackals, deer, langurs, marsh crocodiles, wild boars and birdlife.
verified
Make sure your luggage is light and compact enough to be carried up and down multiple flights of stairs.
verified
There are several long travel days on this trip. Some journeys take 6 to 8 hours but are a great opportunity to get to know locals, fellow travellers, and the diverse scenery. We are covering a lot of this vast country during the trip, so the journey is all part of the India experience.
verified
Prepare for hot and sticky temperatures during the day and cooler climates in the evening, particularly in the desert. Layers are one of the best ways to tackle this disparity in weather.
verified
We visit several temples on this trip, which requires a certain level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants/skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
verified
We've sourced our accommodation carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel. Service and accommodation in India may be different from western standards.

Following an amazing trip in 2024 Vietnam and Cambodia with Intrepid we decided to book with them again.
Jitu our guide for Classic Rajasthan did not disappoint. An amazing trip with great small group. Taj Mahal and very close tiger sightings with a deer kill were the highlights.

An excellent overview of the Golden Triangle of India. Experienced locations otherwise only seen through the eyes of others.

I urge everyone to take this trip. From the sublime Taj Mahal to the wonders of village life and everything between, this trip has it all - introduction to Indian culture for our small group of like minded travellers was superb and our tour leader Abhimanyu ( Abbi) made it perfection, always ready to answer our questions and with an eye to our safety.

Classic Rajasthan is the perfect itinerary over the perfect length of time. So many special and extraordinary experiences. We even saw a mother tiger and her 2 cubs cooling off in a lake at Ranthambore. Lots of free time in afternoons to take a relaxing nap, shop or explore. Do it!

By using multiple and varied forms of transport (including the option of a hot air balloon ride) this trip of Rajasthan provides a unique opportunity to interact with locals whilst at the same time taking in the iconic Moghul palaces, mausoleums and forts of this state. Our locations included a hilltop fort and a restored Moghul palace so we even got to 'live the dream'! The food here was the icing on the cake and no Indian at home will ever be the same again (unless of course we apply the cooking tips we learned on tour!)

Just back from an amazing two weeks from the classic Rajasthan tour with intrepid. What a great itinerary covering so many places in Rajasthan over such a short period. Whilst I was slightly hesitant before about going on a group tour, this has been one of the best trips I have done in many years and I have so many fond memories to cherish for many years to come of all of the amazing places that we saw over the last 15 days. The accommodation and the transport was spot on and all of the food was amazing. What really made this all fit together really well was the group leader Harshita who is an ambassador for intrepid as an organisation. I can’t wait for my next intrepid tour.
