Is this trip right for you?
This is trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
The facilities are basic at your homestay on Lake Titicaca. While creature comforts are few and far between while you're there, many travellers find the experience a rewarding one.
According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors to Machu Picchu must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that is possible to get everyone traveling in a group on the same route, but be aware that it is possible that members of the same group might be visiting Machu Picchu on a different circuit and not be together during this visit. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted.

It was our first time using Intrepid Travel to book a guided holiday. We visited Peru and had the pleasure of having Giscard as our Group Leader. Giscard was incredible! The tour itself was exceptionally organised and we enjoyed every minute. The highlight of the trip was definitely the home stay with the Llachon community at Lake Titicaca. Intrepid and Giscard exceeded our expectations. We will have no doubt in recommending to friends and family.

Just finished the classsic Perú group tour. From start to finish the tour was fun, we felt safe and well extremely well organised. Our guide Giscard made everyone is the group feel included and all needs were met. He was also a wealth of information on Peruvian culture and for all stops of the tour. The tour is a great way to have a taste of Peru in just over a week.

Awesome trip. Our guide was amazing, informative, engaging and fun and added so much to our experience. I loved all of the home stays and home visits, the people we met were so warm and welcoming. Macchu Picchu was a highlight and so well organised, we had a fantastic experience. The Andes were a big surprise, they were breathtaking and our trip to Lake Titicaca was another surprise, I didn’t know much about it before the trip but absolutely loved our time here. 10 out of 10.

The trip concluded without a hitch, despite the multiple modes of transport. Giscard, our tour leader, set the right expectations throughout the trip and helped us overcome the altitude sickness, so that we can enjoy the trip.

We're lucky to have Giscard our leader. He is a Jedi at the top of his game. Machu Pichu was all that and more. I'm thankful for the fabulous group. Intrepid's philosophy of responsible travel so I got the privilege to visit indigenous villages and local knowledge experts. Wonder-fulled.
