Retrace the steps of the Incas to Machu Picchu (one of the famed Seven Wonders of the World), learn the histories of colonial cities, explore vibrant markets and meet the locals – all with a local right by your side. Return home with incredible memories of the panoramas and people of Peru.
Why you’ll love this trip
Discover the breadth of Peru's diverse heritage, from the stories of Lima to the Aymara and Quechuan Indian cultures of Puno.
Marvel at the mother of all Inca cities – Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Take a guided tour of the ruins with a local guide, learning about the people who used to call this site home.
Enjoy plenty of time to explore Cusco – the perfect place to launch into active outdoor adventures or simply relax and take in mountain views.
Explore the floating reed islands of Uros on Lake Titicaca, astounding in concept, construction and history. Take a boat tour on the world's highest navigable lake and stay with a local family.
Join us and help make the world a better place – at Tuuur we’ve always been about balancing profit and purpose and as the largest B Corp certified operator on the Inca Trail we’re committed to operating our treks for the benefit of all.
Is this trip right for you?
This is trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
The facilities are basic at your homestay on Lake Titicaca. While creature comforts are few and far between while you're there, many travellers find the experience a rewarding one.
According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors to Machu Picchu must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that is possible to get everyone traveling in a group on the same route, but be aware that it is possible that members of the same group might be visiting Machu Picchu on a different circuit and not be together during this visit. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted.

I highly recommend Intrepid. I love the fact that they seem to do their best to be environmentally responsible. Guatemala was my first trip with them and I recently returned from Peru. So well organized and their tour guides are fantastic! Shout out to Hugo in the Highlands of Guatemala and Carmen on the Classic Peru trip!
