You don’t have to sacrifice your comfort for a great adventure! On this eight-day discovery of Morocco, you’ll explore sacred sites like the Hassan II Mosque, Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Explore the cultural heart of Morocco in Fes, then head into the Sahara for a camel ride through the sand dunes during sunset, before spending the night camping under the stars. Hike through the Todra Valley and see how the locals farm their produce, stopping for some epic views in the Atlas Mountains. Explore the silver-screen favourite of Ait Benhaddou and try the most delicious mint tea in the world at Tawesna teahouse. Top it all off with a vibrant day in Marrakech, where you’ll see the famed Djemaa el-Fna square and feast on Moroccan favourites like seared meats, fresh salads and chickpea soup.

This trip includes time spent travelling in a private vehicle with your group. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. It's all part of the adventure and a great way to get to know your fellow travellers. There are a few long days of travel, as you'll be covering a lot of ground. You will, however, make stops at interesting locations to break up the longer drives. Please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates.
verified
As a desert country, Morocco can have extreme weather. Please consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season. Refer to the Climate and Seasonal Information section of the Essential Trip Information for more details.
verified
Morocco has a tipping culture and travellers are expected to tip small amounts for most services. Your trip leader and the Money Matters section of the Essential Trip Information can assist you with this.
verified
Although you shouldn’t expect any aggressive selling techniques in Morocco, it’s common to be approached by shop owners and street vendors offering their goods.

We've sourced our accommodation very carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel, but please note that service and accommodation in Morocco may differ from standards at home.

Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.

"Classic Morocco," like every Intrepid tour, exceeded my expectations. Our leader, Youssef, was phenomenal: kind, knowledgeable, approachable, professional, and fun! He was sincere and showed a true interest in sharing his country and culture with us. The itinerary offered so many sights, sounds, and unique experiences, especially during Ramadan. Youssef brought us to his friends' homes for incredible meals and lovely local hospitality. He really made an effort to personalize our experience by making it authentic. We had a wonderful, compatible group, thanks to Youseff setting a nice vibe right from the opening night meeting and dinner! He's a gem and a real asset to Intrepid. The highlight of the tour for sure was the camel ride, sunset, sunrise, and the stay in the Sahara Desert... oh, that "tent" was "glamping!" From the sprawlng mosques, bustling markets in Fes and Marrakech to the tannery and pottery tour, and the High Atlas Mountains...it was a memorable trip. Weather was perfect, not a drop of rain. Well-paced, comprehensive tour.

Youssef was incredibly knowledgeable about the different cities and made a genuine effort to immerse us in the culture. Visiting Moroccan homes for authentic, home cooked meals was a highlight and made the experience feel personal and meaningful rather than just a typical tour. He kept us on schedule the entire time and was always approachable, organized, and easy to talk to.
The only issue was alcohol availability, especially during Ramadan. I do wish Intrepid mentioned this more clearly in advance. It was not the fault of the tour leader or the trip itself, just something to be aware of. If that matters to you, I would recommend picking up a bottle or two at the airport or in Casablanca before heading to smaller cities like Fes or the Sahara where access can be very limited.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would absolutely recommend it.

My partner and I went on the Classic Morocco trip in February and had the most fantastic time. We saw so much of this beautiful country in 8 days that it felt like a month! Our guide was patient, knowledgeable and capable and we felt totally at ease in his presence and with the wider group. 10 / 10 would recommend!

This was my first trip with Intrepid and I would definitely use them again. The trip was well organised and a good mix of activities. The tour leader was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He was a highlight of the trip. The driver also drove very responsibly and I always felt safe. The accommodation was good and authentic. I feel that having taken this trip I have seen the real Morocco and would absolutely use Intrepid again to visit other countries.

If you’re considering Morocco, I highly recommend Intrepid. The local guides and thoughtful itinerary will provide the best experience in this amazing country. I feel like every minute was productive but not rushed. The small group (an international mix of well traveled and thoughtful people, ages 16-60) was also super fun.
