Trip Informations
Uncover the cultural wonders and historical riches of three fascinating countries on this eight-day trip through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Wander the beautiful Old Town of Vilnius and learn about its complex modern history. Discover Riga’s Art Nouveau architecture and feast on Latvian cuisine at the city’s vast Central Market. Unwind in a log cabin among evergreen forest on Saaremaa Island, sharing a meal of local favourites with your fellow travellers, and finish in Estonia’s medieval capital, Tallinn. This adventure takes in historic cities, a naturally scenic wooded island and unique Baltic cultures – all while taking you off tourist trail!
Why you’ll love this trip
See the best of the Baltics in a week – soaking up centuries of history, getting a taste of the region’s hearty cuisine and meeting plenty of locals along the way.
Discover the best bits of Vilnius, from its legendary beginnings and UNESCO-listed Old Town to its tiny independent republic of Uzupis.
Uncover the treasures of Riga – both historic and culinary – on a walking tour through the cobbled streets of the Old Town followed by a Latvian lunch at the lively Central Market.
Take a breath of pine-scented air during a relaxing stay on forest-covered Saaremaa, the largest island in Estonia, sharing a dinner of local favourites before snoozing the night away in a log cabin.
Wander the streets of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town in Tallinn and attend a marzipan workshop in one of the oldest cafes in the city to learn about this delicious sweet treat.
Is this trip right for you?
We recommend packing light and smart for this trip as you'll be required to carry your own luggage between train and bus stations and hotels, which can include going up and down multiple flights of stairs, and across cobblestones.
This trip covers a lot in a week, so there are some long drives. However, all travel is in comfortable private vehicle or public bus, with one ferry ride. Please review the itinerary for details.

It was a great and safe trip with lots to see and do in 3 very different countries and capital cities. Our guide Ances comes highly recommended, she made this trip extra fun and special in the best way. Our group of 12 people was big enough to meet great people from a lot of different backgrounds but small enough to move around easily. Thanks everyone, I had an amazing time!

The batlics are a gem, every corner looks like a scene out of a story book! Our guide Ance was particularly wonderful- she was young, organized and extremely helpful (and kind of funny ;) ) this trip does move a little fast for my usual pace but I have zero regrets. I recommend an extra day at the start and end of your trip! If you are considering any spa treatments at the Riga spa hotel.. no one in our group was particularly thrilled with our treatments. The rain comes and goes very quickly, dont trust the forecast! Wear comfortable shoes for the cobblestones. Go book it!

I could not recommend travelling with Intrepid highly enough. The Baltics Classic trip was our fourth with Intrepid and it was as amazing as the previous three- which frankly is astonishing. All the trips are put together so well, the tour leaders are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the groups are always interesting and welcoming. We love Intrepid and have many more tours on our wish list! The Baltic trip was so interesting- beautiful places, lovely people, amazing food, and all so smooth and well organised.

Had a fantastic time on this trip! Learnt so much about the history of each country and it was great fun getting to experience each one (history, food, nightlife, etc). Very well organised, didn't have any concerns at all and our group leader Agnese was knowledgeable and approachable. Highly recommend this trip!

A wonderful appetizer of dynamic capital cities through a part of the world I knew very little about. Gorgeous streets, medieval cobblestone towns and engaging guides made this a great experience. Ilona was wonderful and I wish we had more time in Riga or Tallin - could’ve done without the island visit which felt out of the way and not as useful to me. Overall a solid 8.5 for me!

I have always been fascinated by the Baltic countries, and this tour was a great introduction to their history and culture. The itinerary is fast-paced, with a good variety of things to see and do, plus excellent options during free time. Our tour leader, Tatiana, was fantastic — enthusiastic, organized, and very knowledgeable about the region.

A really fantastic introduction to the Baltic countries that never feels rushed or overly long. A great mix of organised events and free time so you can really get to know this beautiful part of Europe.

An excellent (albeit fast paced) tour of these three fascinating Countries. If you are lucky enough to have Noah as leader he is amazing!
