Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
See the best of the Baltics in a week – soaking up centuries of history, getting a taste of the region’s hearty cuisine and meeting plenty of locals along the way.
Discover the best bits of Vilnius, from its legendary beginnings and UNESCO-listed Old Town to its tiny independent republic of Uzupis. Then, wander around the Trakai Island Castle, built in the 14th century.
Uncover the treasures of Riga – both historic and culinary – on a walking tour through the cobbled streets of the Old Town followed by a Latvian lunch at the lively Central Market.
Take a breath of pine-scented air during a relaxing stay on forest-covered Saaremaa, the largest island in Estonia, sharing a dinner of local favourites before snoozing the night away in a log cabin.
Wander the streets of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town in Tallinn and attend a marzipan workshop in one of the oldest cafes in the city to learn about this delicious sweet treat.
Is this trip right for you?
We recommend packing light and smart for this trip as you'll be required to carry your own luggage between train and bus stations and hotels, which can include going up and down multiple flights of stairs, and across cobblestones.
This trip covers a lot in a week, so there are some long drives. However, all travel is in comfortable private vehicle or public bus, with one ferry ride. Please review the itinerary for details.

The Classic Baltics trip was one of my best trips ever. Jelizaveta, our tour leader, was exceptional. Her engaging personality and enthusiasm made the trip truly enjoyable. She was always available to answer questions. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a memorable experience in the Baltics.

This trip is a great way to explore the Baltic countries! The itinerary is well designed to allow for sufficient time in each destination and has a good mix of included activity and free time to explore on our own. The orientation provided by the trip leader on the first day is a great way to see most places of interest and figure out where you may want to spend time exploring further.

This was my first trip to Europe, and I wanted to visit a region less travelled. I could not be happier visiting the Baltic States. Truly incredible sites and history. Also had a fantastic group leader Jelizaveta who went above and beyond for our group. I would highly recommend this trip.

The Baltics offer both beautiful scenery and fascinating history. Visit them before they become too popular!

This was my first Intrepid tour and I plan to see what else intrepid offers for my future holidays. Value for money was good and the itinerary was appropriate for the time spent at each destination.

Classic Baltics: great exposure to the uniqueness of the Baltacs area and to each of the major cities, Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn.
