Is this trip right for you?
verified
Be prepared for some long travel days as you’ll need to cover over 2000 km to see China's main highlights in this 8-day adventure, without a flight.
verified
This trip packs a lot in over a short amount of time, so it’s highly recommended you spend some extra time in Shanghai and Beijing before or after your trip to experience more of what these great cities have to offer.
verified
As a short, city-based trip, there isn't a lot of time to experience China's beautiful natural landscapes or get further off the beaten track. If you have more time to explore, consider China Experience (CBSE), or Beijing to Hong Kong Adventure (CBSJ).
verified
China’s world-class sites and experiences draw large numbers of local and international travellers. We recommend a little patience and comfortable shoes as you may need to wait before entering the more popular locations on your itinerary.

My trip to China was one of the best tours I have had worldwide.
Our tour leader was very informative, pleasant and very easy to understand which wasnʻt always applicable in our past journeys (not Intrepid).

This was my first tour with a private company and it gave me confidence that I could experience some of the highlights of China. The World Heritage area of the Great wall was a highlight, as were the terracotta warriors, Beijing moving, Shanghai inspiring and getting around by bullet train a great way to see the vast, varied countryside.

Intrepid has been my tour provider a number of times. They have always delivered as they described on the 'trip destination packages'. Their costing matches what they deliver. They are willing to assist along the path of arranging the tour. Transits from airport to hotels prearranged and perfectly delivered by Intrepid. Their tour guides are respectful, knowledgeable and always willing to provide local assistance when asked. Their tour guides interact with tour members well, with respect. I rate them as extremely exceptional.

A fantastic short introduction to China and an opportunity to see all the main bucketlist attractions in a well organised trip. It is incredibly important to read the trip notes and download the necessary apps to survive the journey in terms of money matters. Please familiarise yourself with Alipay and WeChat. The map app Baidu will help you to get around. Metro is cheap & easy and so is Didi taxi.
