Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Enjoy a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park – home to a wide range of Southern Africa's wildlife, including the endangered black rhino.
Glide through the lily-pad-clad waterways of the Okavango Delta on a mokoro (a small dugout canoe) and escape civilization with an overnight stay at your island camp surrounded by hippos.
Listen to the songs and stories of Namibia’s San people, the oldest inhabitants of Southern Africa, and gain an insight into their traditional customs and beliefs.
Take an optional cruise down the Chobe River for the opportunity to get up close (but not too personal!) to hippos, crocodiles and the Chobe icon – the magnificent African elephant.
Be mesmerized by the staggering force and beauty of Victoria Falls, and experience first-hand why it’s renowned as the ‘smoke that thunders’ – a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed.
Is this trip right for you?
No two journeys in Africa are identical. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts, and unforgettable moments along the way.
This is a participatory overland camping trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your tent, helping out with camp chores, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of iconic African wildlife. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page at tuuur.com/africa/overland.
The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider. All activities are subject to availability.
Camping out in the amazing Okavango wilderness means digging a bush toilet and going without a shower. It's all part of the delta experience.

Had the most memorable birthday whilst in this trip. It would have not happen if it was not for Nash, Wilson and John. They did that extra effort of making my birthday extra special and I will forever remember how I felt during my birthday.

This trip provides the opportunity for a real Southern African overland adventure. Erellah (leader), Wilson (cook) and Ken (driver) were the A team! If you are willing to get up early, set up/take down tents, pull your weight as part of team, have long dusty drives (African massages) you will be richly rewarded with the incredible landscapes, people and animals of the West Cape of South Africa, Namibia, Northern Botswana and Vic Falls (Zimbabwe). Phenomenal. AshleaT

Long days and early starts were worth it to cover the amount of experiences we packed in to 22 days. Camping and helping with the chores instilled a great community spirit amongst our group. Stephen’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the wildlife was amazing and his sharp eyes meant we saw some really unusual things.

If you're up for using tents, this trip is worth it! The tour leader (MJ) was amazing and very knowledgeable, and the cook (I dream of H's French toast) and the driver were both absolute delights. The truck (not a bus!) was very comfortable, and the tents are easy to put up and take down. A really great way to do this route, and the group was a really great bunch of people.

OG, Daniel and Steve were absolutely incredible and made this trip something I will never forget. The food was excellent and dietary needs were very well catered for. OG in particular was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful and organised, and made the trip special for the whole group. I could not recommend this trip highly enough.

A spectacular trip with a lot of variety! As an infrequent camper, I had the best time and always felt safe and comfortable.
