Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Enjoy a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park – home to a wide range of Southern Africa's wildlife, including the endangered black rhino.
Glide through the lily-pad-clad waterways of the Okavango Delta on a mokoro (a small dugout canoe) and escape civilisation with an overnight stay at your island camp surrounded by hippos.
Listen to the songs and stories of Namibia’s San people, the oldest inhabitants of Southern Africa, and gain an insight into their traditional customs and beliefs.
Take an optional cruise down the Chobe River for the opportunity to get up close (but not too personal!) to hippos, crocodiles and the Chobe icon – the magnificent African elephant.
Be mesmerised by the staggering force and beauty of Victoria Falls, and experience first-hand why it’s renowned as the ‘smoke that thunders’ – a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. Donations help employ a team of Community Guardians who collaborate with locals to find sustainable solutions to human-wildlife conflict and conservation in Southern Africa.
Is this trip right for you?
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of Africa’s iconic wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa Overland page: https://www.tuuur.com/au/africa/overland https://www.tuuur.com/au/africa/overland (https://www.tuuur.com/au/africa/overland)
There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
Camping out in the amazing Okavango wilderness means digging a bush toilet and going without a shower. It's all part of the delta experience.
Itinerary

Our leader ‘Mambo’ , chef Charlie and driver Sam were exemplary in their roles. Meals were varied and gluten free was catered for well. Tents were great and easy to set up and take down with two of us. Activities were varied and I loved the varied landscapes, animals and birds. Due to high rainfall I felt we saw less animals than expected in the parks and drives. Long travel days were broken with time for relaxation

Well what a trip. We were all taken under the wing of our crew. Mambo, Charles and Sam. Their professional approach gave us a great adventure while taking great care of us all. With a full crew of 22 I believe we couldn’t have been taken care of any better with sometimes not much to work with. All had a great time and made new friends and experiences.

A wonderful way to see southern Africa. Great variety of peoples, landscapes and animals. Plenty of wonderful food!! Great leader and driver too - so well organised. If I was to do it again, I'd extend it to keep going through to Joberg!

The overland trip with Griffin and his crew was outstanding. A glimpse into so many countries was a great beginning to exploring this continent. We even saw the big five!!!

Mambo, Charlie and Sam (Crew) made this an amazing trip. The itinerary could be improved to save some time and I’d love to see more activities and time for walks. Overall it was excellent though.

We had an amazing experience, thanks to an incredible team! Steve, our guide, was absolutely fantastic—funny, warm-hearted, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made sure everyone felt included and taken care of, always bringing great energy to the trip. Henry, the chef, did an outstanding job with the food. He maintained high hygiene standards and offered a great selection, even for vegetarians. Every meal was delicious, varied, and healthy. His constant laughter and positive attitude made meal times even more enjoyable! Steve, our driver, made us feel completely safe throughout the journey. He was always ready to help and ensured a smooth and stress-free ride. Together, they make a perfect team, creating a fun and memorable trip. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone!
