Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip covers a lot of ground so please be prepared for some long days of driving. You'll be travelling in a van with a group, so conditions may feel a little cramped. We think this is all part of the adventure of road travel, and friendships form fast in tight quarters.
verified
Snow may remain on the ground in higher elevations until the end of May. This may impact certain activities such as scenic gondolas, boat trips or mountain hikes, however crowds are much thinner during this time. Your leader will have a range of suggestions for alternative activities to do in your free time no matter the season.
verified
As we're travelling through the mountains, the weather can be unpredictable. We advise wearing layers in all seasons in case conditions change during the day. Even in the warmer months the temperature can be very low in the mountains.
verified
To ensure you to get the most out of the included and optional activities we recommend you are moderately fit. The hikes are a real highlight of this trip and give you access to some fantastic scenery.
verified
This is a participatory trip. That’s a fancy way of saying you’re not just along for the ride – you are part of a team! Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and help with camp activities like food prep and washing up.
verified
That teamwork also extends to our optional food kitty of approximately CAD 20 per day to cover the cost of meals. This kitty saves you worrying about where to get food or sales taxes and helps keep your costs down by bulk purchasing items together to cook. (Though there’s always the chance to use it for the occasional dinner out!) The kitty is optional and for your convenience, so if you've got specific dietary requirements you can opt out and purchase (and cook) your own food.

In 2024, Jasper experienced a significant wildfire, but much of its beauty remains untouched. As we return in 2025, you’ll witness firsthand how nature is beginning its recovery after this important and natural process that is vital to the region's ecology. This is also a crucial time to support local businesses as they rebuild from the fire’s impact. Join us in experiencing Jasper’s resilience and natural beauty while helping the community recover.

Important notes
verified
1. There are no activities planned on Day 1 of the trip so you may arrive at any time. A welcome meeting will be held at 8am on Day 2 in Vancouver. This trip ends on arrival into Vancouver on Day 15 in the afternoon. The arrival time depends on each group, but we generally aim for a 3pm arrival. If you decide to fly out this day, please don't book a flight before 8pm which will give you enough time to catch a shuttle from the hotel to the airport and be there 2 hours before departure.
verified
2. A Single Supplement to have your own room and tent is available on this trip but please note that single tents are limited due to group camping accommodations. Therefore, all single supplements are on request only.
verified
3. A sleeping bag is required for this trip. If you would like to rent a sleeping bag locally, the cost is $50 CAD, payable in cash to your guide on Day 1 of the trip. Please advise your booking agent prior to departure if you require a sleeping bag rental.
verified
4. Please note that In Canada the legal drinking age is 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, and 19 in the remaining provinces and territories.
verified
5. Due to the remote nature of the backcountry canoe trip on days 5 & 6, anyone who tests positive for Covid while on trip will not be able to join the group in the backcountry. This policy is in place to protect you and our backcountry guides. If you test positive for Covid during the trip but wish to continue with the group, your leader will assist you with making alternative arrangements (at your expense) for accommodations during the canoe trip as well as transportation to meet the group on Day 7. Please review your travel insurance policy to ensure you have trip interruption coverage included.
verified
6. We are not able to book airport shuttle service for North America trips. North America has convenient taxi and rideshare options from all airports, as well as public transport systems in major hub cities. Please check the joining and finishing point instructions listed in the Essential Trip Information.

Perfect trip to discover the amazing Canadian Rockies. The itinerary is great and the landscapes are breathtaking. We had a really nice group, with positive and fun energy, even during some challenging days (weather conditions). Our tour leader, Dusty, gave us lots of information regarding the nature, wildlife and made sure we could do the activities we wanted to. He was also a nice Chef.
So if you like nature and want to live a great adventure, just book it!

Stop overthinking it and book this trip!!! I had the most incredible time with my four travel buddies and our tour guide Dustin. This trip was better than I could have ever imagined. Dustin cooked some amazing meals and always took my dietary requirements into consideration. We saw some incredible sights including the northern lights! I made some incredible friends and really pushed myself out of my comfort zone. I recommend packing a sleeping bag liner for colder nights, and make sure to bring a head torch!! I had not canoed or camped very much before doing this trip and I consider myself reasonably out of shape. I still managed to do most of the hikes and the canoe trip was difficult but definitely achievable! Thank you again Dusty for an amazing tour of the Rockies. Also hi to my group I miss you guys 👋👋

If you’re on the fence about this trip, my advice is to BOOK NOW! I just had the time of my life in the ruggedly beautiful Rocky Mountains, our guide Raph was super knowledgeable and made the trip special! I’m not an experienced camper but I loved being out in nature. We even saw the northern lights in Wells Gray! Incredible trip.

Amazing introduction to the natural landscapes of BC and Alberta. There was a lot of travelling involved but there were plenty of stops and sights to see along the way.
My highlights were stargazing from a canoe on Clearwater Lake, taking the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulfur Mountain, and seeing lots of wildlife (including black bears).

This was an amazing, activity filled tour through the beautiful Rockies. The scenery was unreal and the activities including the hikes, canoe camping, water rafting and glacier hike were all so incredible and special. Mikael Matte is an excellent and hardworking tour leader who went above and beyond to ensure we got the the most out of the trip. He is a great chef too and made sure we were all well fed. His energy, enthusiasm and sense of humour made for a great dynamic. Big thanks to Mikael for making this a fantastic trip! The camping equipment was good quality, the itinerary amazing and the group so much fun. A very special and enjoyable trip - highly recommend!

What a fantastic trip. The Canadian Rockies are absolutely breathtaking and photographs don't do the place justice. The itinerary was altered due to the wildfires in Jasper, but I did not feel like I missed out on anything vital.
Our tour guide Mikaël was a great tour guide, chef, and chauffeur. He went out of his way to ensure that we got the best experience possible, including an unforgettable hike on the glacier which might not have been originally possible due to altered itinerary following the Jasper wildfires. The hikes in Banff made for excellent views of the landscapes and Mikaël also encouraged some of the group to realise their potentials and hike to the peaks to enjoy the scenery below.
The group bonded well over our love for hiking, glaciers and rafting, as well as our hatred for tortilla cheese wraps and mosquitoes.
No bears, but we were lucky enough to encounter a moose as well as a porcupine in Clearwater.
Worth going back for.
