Trip Informations
Uncover the secrets of Cambodia’s mystical Angkor Wat region during three full days of exploration and adventure. Investigate these sacred temples and explore from Angkor Wat to Ta Prohm with a knowledgeable local guide. Be awed not only by the ruins but by stories of god-kings and lost civilisations, ancient mythology and fascinating folklore. Trek through the dense, steamy Cambodian jungle to admire Hindu sculptures that were carved into a riverbed over a thousand years ago, sample plenty of spicy Khmer dishes and meet locals who reside in stilted villages atop Tonle Sap. This is the perfect addition to any holiday in South East Asia.
Why you’ll love this trip
As one of the world’s greatest religious and archaeological sites, Angkor Wat deserves and demands special attention – this short break focuses on the temple complex in detail.
From the man-made to the natural side of Cambodia, an Tuuur Foundation supported project that helps animals saved from trafficking.

Discover a way of life dictated by the rhythm of water in the fascinating floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, CRST. Donations help them break the cycle of poverty in Cambodia by inspiring and empowering children with education opportunities.
Is this trip right for you?
On Short Breaks, you maintain a good level of independence and freedom, with the added bonus of having the details sorted out for you. You’ll have lots of free time and you won’t be accompanied by a Trip Leader. This means that all included activities and tours will be run by different local Tuuur partners, and these may operate independently from each other. The included activities and transfers will operate on a join-in basis, which means that you could have your Adventure all to yourself, or others may join you along the way. If you would prefer to travel in a group with a dedicated Trip Leader, just get in touch with your booking agent and they will take you through some alternatives.
We use a variety of hotels in Siem Reap, depending on availability. These hotels will be confirmed to you at your time of booking.
Part of travelling with Tuuur means respecting local cultures and sensibilities. That way you get the most out of your interactions with local people and environments and you will visit many temples on this trip, which requires a level of modesty. Be sure to bring clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.

Excellent trip as you had the day for included activities (with an excellent guide) and the evenings to explore on your own. I was most impressed with our tour guide, Dee, who was able to share not only facts and interesting things about the places we visited, but her own family connection and history in connection with the places we visited. This personal touch makes you feel a little more of a connection to the history of the place.

We had an amazing time exploring Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm , Pink lady's temple and Bayon with an extremely knowledgeable guide who did not present is the facts about the temples but also gave us a sneak peak into the local folklore. Vanny, our guide made sure we are well taken care of and presented us with local markets where he got us an array of local sweets and street food. Trully an amazing experience that I have no doubt would not have been possible without our guide Vanny and our driver mr. "Hour". And on top of all that we managed to visit the floating , drive around busy Siem Reap in a tuktuk and enjoy a few traditional dances in the evening.

Our Intrepid travel guide made our trip to Angkor Wat truly come alive. Her grandparents lived across the street! Her stories of the temple’s history will live with us always.

This trip was everything as described! My tour guide was very knowledgeable seemed to know all the secret spots better than other guides. I was the only person on my tour and I felt so welcome. I have made a friend on this trip. Thank you Mr Wan

A very informative, effortless way to see the temples at Angkor Wat as well as some other interesting things around Siem Reap. We especially enjoyed the temples still semi-consumed by the jungle and also the boat trip on the last morning. We got way more out of seeing the temples with a guide to explain everything as there are no signboards. Our guide Sokham was so friendly and knowledgeable. Also the included lunches were the best food we had in Cambodia by far! We enjoyed this short trip very much.

The price of this trip is a scam because the hotel is absolutely horrible: cockroaches in the room, a very old and worn place, towels that felt sandpaper, soap that crumbled on my hands, and rats in the rooftop restaurant. The tour guide and tour itself was perfect, but intrepid’s service before that is awful. No info provided, no confirmation about pickup from the hotel, and no airport transfers in a place where the airport is 60km away from the city. Unacceptable.
