Is this trip right for you?

The Cocora Valley hike is quite rigorous, so you'll need to be fit and have sturdy walking shoes. If you'd rather relax, you're free to opt out of this activity and soak up the scenery at your leisure.
verified
Colombia enjoys a stable year-round climate, but it can get particularly hot and humid in the north. Be sure to drink plenty of water and wear adequate sun protection, especially in Cartagena on the coast.
Itinerary
Experience the beauty and vibrancy of Colombia
Head into the serene highlands of Colombia's famed coffee region on a nine-day adventure where you’ll encounter the stories, traditions and culture embedded in this region’s lush valleys and historic cities. Learn how to roast the perfect blend during a tour of a working coffee plantation, stroll through Bogota’s local food market, try the fresh, local seafood and maybe even try out a traditional Colombian sport in Salento. If you’re still out and about once the sun goes down, why not also explore the nightlife of Medellin (your leader has all the best spots). Then, trade the country's lush interior for its coastal spoils and wind the adventure up in oh-so-romantic Cartagena – a UNESCO World Heritage site with much to explore.

This trip was excellent. Andres our guide was super knowledgeable and ran a really efficient tour. Although we visited a lot of places it didn’t feel like any days were wasted travel days. Andres always had some great activities planned. Could not have thought of a better way to see Colombia. An excellent trip, highly recommended. Also felt safe the whole trip.

This was a wonderful trip which showed the highlights of a beautiful country. Completely enjoyable and well organized. Andres was a wonderful tour leader whose enthusiasm for his country shown always radiated. It was unexpected and amazing many ways. Consider adding days before and at the end so you can enjoy all that Bogota has to offer, and then to relax in Cartagena.

Cafe Colombia was such a special experience from start to finish. Staying on the coffee estate felt personal and unforgettable, and Medellín was vibrant, fun, and easily my favorite part of the trip. Our group clicked instantly and truly felt like friends. Our tour leader, Fonz, was incredible. He was caring, knowledgeable, and made everything feel effortless.

Cafe Colombia was fabulous. The destinations, the activities, the value for the price, the incredible people of Colombia and the food. This was the trip of a lifetime and my only regret is not booking an intrepid trip sooner! Also, Daniela was an amazing guide.

We started travelling with Intrepid 21 years ago and we will be travelling with them in the future. Group travel takes a life of it's own, love it.
