Trip Informations
Head into the serene highlands of Colombia's famed coffee region on a nine-day adventure where you’ll encounter the stories, traditions and culture embedded in this region’s lush valleys and historic cities. Learn how to roast the perfect blend during a tour of a working coffee plantation, stroll through Bogota’s local food market, try the fresh, local seafood and maybe even try out a traditional Colombian sport in Salento. If you’re still out and about once the sun goes down, why not also explore the nightlife of Medellin (your leader has all the best spots). Then, trade the country's lush interior for its coastal spoils and wind the adventure up in oh-so-romantic Cartagena – a UNESCO World Heritage site with much to explore.
Why you’ll love this trip
Explore the cobbled alleys of Cartagena – a UNESCO World Heritage-listed town where 16th-century fortress walls surround streets filled with colourful street art and balconies draped with cascading flowers.
Embark on a guided hike through the Cocora Valley – home to black-billed toucans, misty cloud forests and the world's tallest palm trees.
Spend a couple of days learning about the world's favourite bean during a stay on a traditional coffee estancia deep in Colombia's coffee country.
Discover the new face of Medellin, an arts and culture haven that’s bursting with trendy cafes, epic views and the best nightlife in Colombia – salsa anyone?
Try your hand at tejo, Colombia’s explosive national sport (think bocce with gunpowder!). Join your group on this fun activity in Salento, made better with a beer in hand.
Is this trip right for you?
The Cocora Valley hike is quite rigorous, so you'll need to be fit and have sturdy walking shoes. If you'd rather relax, you're free to opt out of this activity and soak up the scenery at your leisure.
Colombia enjoys a stable year-round climate, but it can get particularly hot and humid in the north. Be sure to drink plenty of water and wear adequate sun protection, especially in Cartagena on the coast.

Andres did an excellent job communicating with us all and his knowledge of Columbia was super. I would throughly recommend friends going on his trip. He went beyond is duty to recommend things for us to do and restaurants when we had finished the trip

A fantastic way to see Colombia for the first time; to get a sense of the diversity of the country and the mix of breathtaking landscape and city bustle. Andrea as our guide was fantastic in keeping us moving efficiently from place to place and in giving us a lot of the context and history of Columbia which is complex to say the least. Its fantastic to come across so many guides and people trying to write the new history of Colombia and move to peaceful progress and Andrea is no exception. Great ambassadors for the country and the selection of every guide was awesome. The 2 days in peaceful countryside at the Coffee Hacienda was a highlight and some well needed downtime when taking a break from otherwise busy lives. Highly recommend

A fabulous tour of Colombia that showed the true beauty of the country and the pride the people have in their communities. An authentic trip to see Colombia as it is, breaking down the stigmas attached to it from the past. The people have had to endure a lot and are passionate about changing an unfair outlook many have. It’s a beautiful country full of lovely people, and it showed South America in beautiful way.

Cafe Colombia is a wonderful immersion into Colombia's main cities, beautiful nature, delicious food, and, of course, the coffee culture. The hike in Cocora Valley and the stay at the coffee farm are absolute highlights of this well-rounded adventure! The itinerary is packed but it's well worth it. Highly recommend, especially if it's your first time in Colombia!
