Summer temperatures in Hungary and Romania can reach up to 40°C, which can be uncomfortable for those not used to the heat. Please consider the time of year you wish to travel and your suitability for that season. If travelling in summer, drink lots of water and remember to protect yourself from the sun. Bring layers to combat the heat, as well as sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

Intrepid made our trip fantastic, everything was carefully planned for us to get to know the places we were visiting on a deeper level and actually get to know the culture and people. Also, our tour guide was fantastic. Couldn’t recommend Intrepid enough. 10/10!

The trip was fantastic seeing things that were not explained in the brochure. It was fantastic to see things in small villages and meet people eat different foods prepared by local artisans. You will be amazed by taking this trip young and old will enjoy and see how the rest of the world is actually living, and seeing how kind of hospitality you could expect from local, this truly amazed me would recommend to other people this trip as it was fantastic Budapest to Bucharest

A fabulous trip through Romania. The homestay elements are great and give you a real taste of the country. We were lucky to have Silvana as our tour leader who was really knowledgeable about the country and really helped increase my understanding of Romanian history.

If someone is considering a short trip to Eastern Europe, the Intrepid Budapest to Bucharest tour would be hard to beat. The scope of the experiences and depth of knowledge gained would be impossible to get with independent travel. Small groups are far better than big groups.
