Trip Informations
A place of astounding natural beauty and great spiritual significance, Western Australia's Kimberley region is Australia untamed. While the roads here can be rough, this five-day inland adventure takes in several of the Kimberley's highlight attractions, plus a whole host of lesser-known favourites. Weave through the boulders and chasms of the Bungle Bungles, encounter Dreaming stories in the Mimbi Caves and learn the legend of Jandamarra on a tour of Tunnel Creek. Join the Darlgunya cultural walk, search for freshwater crocodiles at Windjana Gorge and spend each night camping under the stars.
Why you’ll love this trip
Explore the Bungle Bungles – a unique orange and black striped 'beehive' formation that is more than 20 million years old.
Take a guided tour of Mimbi Caves with a local Gooniyandi guide and explore one of Western Australia's largest cave systems.
Visit the sacred Cathedral Gorge surrounded by birdsong and the towering red rock walls of the gorge.
Join the Darlgunya Cultural Walk. Stroll through the remnants of the old postal settlement and learn about the wild Fitzroy River.
Search for freshwater crocodiles, local birdlife and indigenous bushtucker at Windjana Gorge – an oasis in the outback beneath gorge walls rising 90 m.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip involves plenty of walking over varied terrain and is best suited to travellers with a good level of mobility. A reasonable level of fitness and being sure on your feet is necessary to participate. Good footwear (hiking boots with ankle support and closed toe water shoes), clothing for all types of weather (sun protection and warm layers for the evening), plus perhaps walking poles are recommended for extra stability on uneven rocky terrain. Details on physical activities can be found in the daily itinerary.
This is a camping trip for those who are looking for the basics. Simple facilities and lack of emphasis on creature comforts make this an authentic experience of the Australian outback. All of the camping equipment you need is provided, including stretcher beds and a mattress to sleep on, 190cm high tents, comfortable camping chairs, linen and a pillow. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag (or hire one from us for an additional cost). A Single Supplement is not available on the default version of this trip. As a single traveller, you will have a tent to yourself on camping nights however, in the remote Bungle Bungles permanent tented camp (Day 2 and 3) you’ll be paired up with another single traveller of the same gender. An accommodation upgrade (Camping Plus) is available upon request and subject to availability at an additional cost. Camping Plus can also be booked with the option for a single supplement. Please see the accommodation section of your trip notes or speak to your travel agent for more details.
Please note that you must bring your own sleeping bag, suitable to the conditions. Please familiarise yourself with the weather conditions that are to be expected at the time of your trip. You can also hire a sleeping bag from us at an additional cost. This must be requested with your booking agent no later than 14 days prior to departure.
On some days of the trip, you’ll spend several hours driving through very sparse areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. There will be some very early mornings.
It is very important that you advise us of any dietary requirements and allergies at least 2 weeks prior to departure. We need this information well ahead of time to be able organise catering for the trip. This trip’s remote location means that some food items will not be available on short notice, and once the trip has commenced changes to dietary requirements are not possible. Please also advise us of any medical conditions at the time of booking and bring along any personal medication. Please note that if you require urgent medical attention during the trip, it may take several hours or more for emergency services to attend the scene and take you to a medical facility.

Fascinating camping trip to the Bungle Bungles. Great way to experience the vastness of Australia to places that are difficult to visit as an independent traveller. Super well organised, delicious meals and superb tour guides, Jasmine and Luke.

This was such a magnificent experience, exploring the wonders of the Kimberley with the best tour guides I have ever encountered. They had so much knowledge of the landscape, history and First Peoples, and the opportunity to hear from traditional owners on many of our stops was profoundly important. Can't recommend this tour highly enough.

Five day Bungle-Bungle tour, Jasmine was our main Guide, with Darcy and Luke (experienced guides, learning a new route) what a great team-a well oiled machine, bringing a great sense of fun to the hole adventure. Catering for us on every level, great knowledge and information insightfully shared, fantastic food (always perfectly timed) Jasmine especially went above and beyond, to make the tour a great and memorable experience, for all of the group.

Our five day Broome to the Bungle Bungles tour soared above and beyond every expectation. Travelling through Country that quite simply ‘gets under your skin’ and led by the awesome-in-every-way Jasmine, I’m only wishing we did the longer tour! Darcy and Luke were also fabulous.

This tour completely exceeded my expectations. Georgia and Heloisa created a fun, relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. our group all got along so well, plenty of laughter on long drives. The bungle bungles are magical - bucket list destination. Everthing made a significant birthday special - memories that will last a lifetime
