This is a camping trip for those who are looking for the basics. Simple facilities and lack of emphasis on creature comforts make this an authentic experience of the Australian outback. All of the camping equipment you need is provided, including stretcher beds and a mattress to sleep on, 190cm high tents, comfortable camping chairs, linen and a pillow. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag (or purchase one from us for an additional cost). A Single Supplement is not available on the default version of this trip. As a single traveller, you will have a tent to yourself on camping nights however, in the remote Bungle Bungles permanent tented camp (Day 2 and 3) you’ll be paired up with another single traveller of the same gender. An accommodation upgrade (Camping Plus) is available upon request and subject to availability at an additional cost. Camping Plus can also be booked with the option for a single supplement. Please see the accommodation section of your trip notes or speak to your travel agent for more details.

On some days of the trip, you’ll spend several hours driving through very sparse areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. There will be some very early mornings.
verified
This itinerary involves some clambering over rocks, wading in water by torchlight, walking on rocky creek beds and ascending/descending into gorges. A reasonable level of fitness and being sure on your feet is necessary to participate.

PARTICIPATORY CAMPING
verified
It is important that travellers participate in setting up camp each night, though the leader can assist where necessary. The leader also appreciates the assistance or one or two group members in preparing/clearing meals. It is essential that all our groups leave the camp they stay in as they found them for the next travellers - the Kimberley is a pristine wilderness and it is our responsibility to ensure it stays this way.

The Kimberley region is very beautiful. I came away with much better understanding of our First Nation people. I think every Australian would enjoy this trip

My wife and I had an amazing time on the 5 Day Bungle Bungle experience. The trip leaders James and Simon went above and beyond to ensure our safety, comfort and experience. Great trip.

I found Jim and Simon our tour guides were exceptional. They were so organised and hard working and no request even asking for Vegemite was too much trouble.

A trip of a lifetime - I remember the first reporting of the “discovery” of The Bungles. This trip just tempted me to revisit the area. Can’t recommend enough

We had a fantastic time on the Broome to bungle five day tour with Stacey and Simon.. …we shared this glorious experience with an adventurous and varied group and really enjoyed their company. Magnificent Bungle bungle scenery, authentic indigenous experiences, and the wonderful Kimberly Wild camp were the highlight.s. Our guides were top-notch drivers, incredibly knowledgeable about flora and fauna, indigenous history and geology., as well as fantastic cooks and very funny! Food was buried and healthy and delicious. Be prepared for a couple of long days in the four-wheel-drive, but the itinerary provides lots of stops along the way, and the Safari camp at the end is well worth it! Our group dynamic was fantastic with a range of people from young backpackers to adventurous older couples and singles…. Trip of a lifetime if you like an adventure!

Organisation was great. Food was terrific. Care and responsibility for travellers was excellent. Felt safe at all times. Attention to well maintained trucks would have been welcome. Also the truck seats were quite uncomfortable for many hours of extended travel. If in the future we travel with Intrepid we would highly recommend Silvia and Jess

They know the Kimberly and have deep connection to country through knowledgeable guides and the inclusion of local indigenous folk to talk to about their connections to country and the sites we visit.
