Trip Informations
Travel to Borneo on this nine-day family adventure and discover the curious wildlife and spectacular landscapes of the region. Learn how orphaned orangutans are rehabilitated back into the wild, have a go at stand-up paddleboarding and watch baby green turtles take wobbly steps towards the waterfront. Along the way, you'll make friends, try some delicious cuisine and forge some incredible memories. With all the essentials included and plenty of free time to explore at your own pace, you and your family will fall in love with the unique animals, lush ecosystem and sandy islands of Borneo.
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk along the scenic canopy walkway at Poring Hot Springs, followed by a refreshing dip in the natural waters. Then, spend the night at a tea plantation.
Stay among the birds and beasts of the jungle, right next to an oxbow lake, at Kinabatangan Eco Camp and fall asleep to the sounds of cicadas.
Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and, if you're lucky, watch baby orangutans learn to swing in a special enclosure.
Cruise along Kinabatangan River at sunset, looking out for macaques, wild orangutan and proboscis monkeys.
Watch protected turtle hatchlings scatter across the beach to the water under the cover of night – this is a special opportunity to see baby turtles in their natural habitat, but make sure you listen to your guides as this is a sensitive and fragile area!
Is this trip right for you?
There's a wide range of accommodation on this trip, from hotels and guesthouses to jungle camps. Some may be a little more basic than your standard Tuuur hotel, but their unique location and close proximity to wildlife is what makes them special.

Our Intrepid Borneo trip was unforgettable. Watching a mother turtle lay her eggs was a true highlight. From orangutans to river safaris, every moment felt meaningful. The guides were exceptional, generous, and deeply connected to their country. A powerful mix of adventure and perspective we’ll never forget.

A great way to see and experience part of Sabah in a limited amount of time. Great mix of activities but with enough time to relax too. Our 8 year old loved it, as did we. Our guide, Belle, was amazing.

Holiday of a lifetime for me and my 12 year old son. Small group and a busy pace suited us well. We loved all the wildlife and the sense of being out of our comfort zone but always well looked after. Our guide was very good and very informative, great food and overall an amazing adventure!

Our guide, Ben, took every opportunity to help us see the “top five” animals in the wild. We managed three but heard the elephants. So close. I was so endeared by each person we met on tour that supported our experience, from drivers, to boat crew and cooking teams. A highlight is the Kapo Culture Centre but I won’t spoil the wonderful surprise installed for you. The emphasis on locally run and owned businesses made for charming accommodation and excusions, laughs, knowledge that I helped make a sustainable difference and plenty of experiences of life in Borneo. I loved the the tour, and would do it again.
