Trip Informations
Travel to Borneo on this nine-day family adventure and discover the curious wildlife and spectacular landscapes of the region. Learn how orphaned orangutans are rehabilitated back into the wild, have a go at stand-up paddleboarding and watch baby green turtles take wobbly steps towards the waterfront. Along the way, you'll make friends, try some delicious cuisine and forge some incredible memories. With all the essentials included and plenty of free time to explore at your own pace, you and your family will fall in love with the unique animals, lush ecosystem and sandy islands of Borneo.
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk along the scenic canopy walkway at Poring Hot Springs, followed by a refreshing dip in the natural waters. Then, spend the night at a tea plantation.
Stay among the birds and beasts of the jungle, right next to an oxbow lake, at Kinabatangan Eco Camp and fall asleep to the sounds of cicadas.
Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and, if you're lucky, watch baby orangutans learn to swing in a special enclosure.
Cruise along Kinabatangan River at sunset, looking out for macaques, wild orangutan and proboscis monkeys.
Watch protected turtle hatchlings scatter across the beach to the water under the cover of night – this is a special opportunity to see baby turtles in their natural habitat, but make sure you listen to your guides as this is a sensitive and fragile area!
Is this trip right for you?

Having travelled solo with Intrepid, this time around I wanted my kids to experience a different type of family travel. We weren't disappointed. Intrepid delivered exceptional service from initial booking to the end of the trip. My family had an amazing experience in Borneo. Our guide Jeffry was superb in his local knowledge and attentive to each person ensuring we had a trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend Intrepid Family trip. I felt relaxed and could enjoy my time off work with the kids. The group was laid back and friendly.

We loved our time in Borneo. We got to see some incredible views, animals, and plants. Even experience the magic of bird watching (who knew?), wake to magical jungle sounds, and meet like minded people. It was impossibly HOT but we feel so privileged to have seen the Borneo corner of the world with our guide, Jeffry.

Excellent Trip to the nature of North Borneo, i recomend. Good organised and with sympathic tour leaders, you enjoy the richness of nature and also the needs of awareness of its fragility. For Kids and adults a perfect sight into the nature.

We had a fantastic trip, and saw such incredible wildlife including orangutan nesting in a tree just behind our camp, and I will always remember the sounds of the jungle at night.

Really fantastic trip for both kids and adults. Jungle camp and Turtle Island the stand out highlights loved by everyone. Kids loved having other kids their age to hang out with, made it a relaxing yet adventure packed holiday for us adults.
