Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk along the scenic canopy walkway at Poring Hot Springs, followed by a refreshing dip in the natural waters. Then, spend the night at a tea plantation.
Stay among the birds and beasts of the jungle, right next to an oxbow lake, at Kinabatangan Eco Camp and fall asleep to the sounds of cicadas.
Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and, if you're lucky, watch baby orangutans learn to swing in a special enclosure.
Cruise along Kinabatangan River at sunset, looking out for macaques, wild orangutan and proboscis monkeys.
Watch protected turtle hatchlings scatter across the beach to the water under the cover of night – this is a special opportunity to see baby turtles in their natural habitat, but make sure you listen to your guides as this is a sensitive and fragile area!
Is this trip right for you?
There's a wide range of accommodation on this trip, from hotels and guesthouses to jungle camps. Some may be a little more basic than your standard Tuuur hotel, but their unique location and close proximity to wildlife is what makes them special.
The average age of children who travelled on this trip in the last year is 11 years old. Most children on Tuuur Family trips are between 10 and 14 years old

I loved taking this trip with my two boys aged 10 and 12. It had a great mix of nature, culture and relaxation. My kids loved the wildlife and all the various swimming options and I really appreciated Nelson’s generous nature and his kind and patient leadership approach. The accommodation exceeded all my expectations and I found this a really option of travelling to Borneo with the planning all taken care of.

This trip exceeded our expectations at every turn. The passion for conservation of our guide and all the local operators transcended our experiences, and was deeply moving. The abundance of wildlife was the absolute highlight for our family and were things you can only experience on a tour like this. We have two family members with coeliac disease (gluten free) and were able to enjoy a wide variety of food on this tour with the help of our guide and a local translation card. The Eco Camp and turtle island were standouts!

I found I throughly enjoyed all aspects of this trip. I was hesitant at first as it was right out of my comfort zone but so glad I came and enjoyed it so much with the help of our guides and amazing new friends I toured with.
