Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Explore one of the world’s highest cities, La Paz! Take an urban cable car for epic valley views, shop for potions in the Witches Market or hunt for the best choripan (Bolivian hot dog).
verified
Buckle up for a 4WD adventure through the Andean Desert. Barren, haunting and spectacular, the laws of earthly physics seem to bend on the surreal Salar de Uyuni salt flats.
verified
Choose to visit the otherworldly landscape of Valle de la Luna – a maze of canyons and colossal clay spires that makes you feel you’re walking on the moon.
verified
Get close to 68-million-year-old dinosaur footprints and visit grand mansions in the historic capital of Sucre.
verified
Learn about Bolivia’s past as you explore the narrow streets and Spanish architecture of Potosi, which was once one of the wealthiest cities in the world.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
This is trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
verified
You'll spend a lot of time in a 4WD which is likely to have all seats occupied while crossing some bumpy surfaces. This is the best way to see the sights in and around Uyuni and is all part of the adventure.
verified
For the 4WD excursion to Salar de Uyuni you may share with people outside your group depending on your group composition.
verified
In Bolivia (especially in Uyuni), things don't always go to plan. An attraction may be closed for the day without notice or reason. Although this doesn't happen very often, please be prepared for the possibility.
verified
Making your way across the Andean Desert and salt flats isn’t exactly luxurious. Temperatures in the area can be very cold, especially at night, so bring warm clothes. Meals are simple, toilet facilities are basic, showers can be cold, and the multishare accommodation is dormitory style. This is all part of the adventure. Without a doubt, this amazing experience will be one of the highlights of your trip.

This is not a tour for the faint-hearted, as Bolivia can throw up unexpected challenges at any time. In such circumstances, the importance of a really competent and resourceful tour leader comes to the fore. Fortunately, in Henrry we had one.

This is a great trip if you want to cover most of the highlights of Bolivia in a short time. From La Paz city tours to the Uyuni salt flats, to the southern volcanoes and colorful lagoons of the Altiplano, plus the history-filled cities of Potosí and Sucre, you will see some amazing sights! Guide Henri did an amazing job of keeping us informed and entertained.

Bolivia is a country of adventure, culture, and stunning scenery. And this tour captures it all. When I signed up I only knew of La Paz and the Salt flats, but after this tour I've found myself wishing more people knew of the less known gems of Bolivia like Sucre. Highly recommend this tour.

Bolivia was an absolute surprise and hidden gem in the most positive way. Had did it was part of a broader Peru trip and attracted by the salt plains, but saw so much more in the desert. Absolutely incredible and not as well known. Will be spreading the word! Doing through Intrepid made all the planning so easy. Loved it

A truly beautiful country and a trip that wildly exceeded my expectations. A well planned out itinerary, with lots included. Some of my highlights were the drives through the salt flats and past volcanoes which felt like I was on another planet and seeing the dinosaur footprints! A relatively short trip but I felt like I had been travelling for a month by the end of it. We saw so much and did so much in a short period of time. Bolivians are warm and lovely people - also the food for veggies was rather good (not what I had been expecting). BOOK IT!
