Trip Informations
Embark on an eight-day journey through the countryside and cuisine of Switzerland. This small nation packs a punch with its mountainous landscapes, glacial lakes, picturesque cities and food staples that are so tough to beat. Visit the Zytglogge Clock on a guided walk in Bern, travel on a cogwheel train through the Alps and hike to the peak of Mount Rigi. Join a guided tour of a local cheese cellar, explore Grindelwald at your own pace and, if you fell like, treat your taste buds to plenty of chocolate along the way!

Is this trip right for you?

Please keep your luggage as small and light as possible. You'll be travelling on public transport where storage space is limited. You'll need to be able to lift your luggage into storage racks, walk across cobblestone streets with it and carry it up and down stairs.
verified
Some of Switzerland’s best scenery is found on walks, which can be quite steep and long. While this trip itself doesn't require a high level of fitness, it’s essential to be at least moderately fit if you want to take part in all activities. During the trip, you have the option to hike the trails in the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau region.
verified
The primary means of transportation on this trip is by train. Swiss trains are a fast (and punctual) way to cross long distances, allowing you to avoid traffic jams and arrive right into the city centre. They are comfortable and all have toilets, however, can sometimes be quite busy. You may need to make exchanges in between to reach your destination.
verified
Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.
verified
Your trip includes a three-day Swiss Travel Pass, which will allow you to access many free optional activities.

This is trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.

My 5th Intrepid tour, I choose this company because of the well managed and organised trips. The variety and activities are valuable and well thought out. I really enjoy the activities and orientation walks plus the balance of free time is ideal.
If you're thinking about seeing a new place- then do it! Intrepid will show you the highlights really well, plus you'll make some friends!
