Don’t let the heat keep you from exploring the world! Summer temperatures can be extremely high in Morocco (over 40°C), which can make things uncomfortable. It’s essential to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat, and drink plenty of water.

Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.

There are a couple of long travel days on this trip, particularly the day travelling to the Sahara Desert. Rest stops will be made on the way and you’ll be rewarded with great views on the drive itself.

The best guided tour I’ve ever been on, Morocco was such an interesting and exotic country, full of history, spices and colour. Intrepid’s itinerary was comprehensive and covered everything we needed to see, with an outstanding guide. I felt safe the whole time and have new respect for the country, people and culture. Highly recommended.

My name is Susan and I am a 67 year old American visiting Morocco for the first time. Intrepid made the journey easy from the start, providing personal service when planning my trip and excellent guidance through the trip notes. Our guide, Allel Fadidi, was incredible. I cannot imagine a better trip! He guided us with professionalism, depth of knowledge and personal warmth second to none. I will absolutely book with Intrepid Travel in the future.

It was an unforgettable experience that truly lived up to its name, Best of Morocco. The itinerary allowed us to experience the country in its full diversity from the Atlantic coast and vibrant cities to the Atlas Mountains, green landscapes, and the Sahara Desert. We didn’t just visit Morocco; we felt it through its history, culture, and people.
The trip was extremely well organized, with great attention to detail. Our driver, Mustafa, was professional, friendly, and always attentive, making every journey comfortable and enjoyable. Our leader, Allal, was exceptional knowledgeable, organized, and deeply committed to creating a warm, family-like atmosphere within the group. His passion and clear explanations greatly enriched the experience.
This trip also reflected Intrepid Travel’s values in a very real way. Respect for local communities, culture, and the environment was evident throughout, confirming that their commitment and B Corp values are genuinely practiced on the ground.

For anyone considering the Best of Morocco tour — do it! It truly covers everything: coastlines, mountains, and the desert. Our guide, Omar, was exceptional: funny, approachable, knowledgeable, and consistently professional. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your guide, you’ll learn so much.
A few tips if you’re travelling in late November:
Bring a raincoat.
Pack wet-weather hiking boots — not just for hiking, but because roads and paths can get very slippery. Joggers and sneakers don’t offer enough traction.
Take warmer clothing for the mountains and any unexpected cold weather.
It rained for three days on our trip and was surprisingly cold in several places, not just in the mountains. The coast and Marrakech were warmer, but overall I didn’t pack enough winter gear and ended up having to buy some along the way.
