Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Trek through the dramatic red dunes of the Sahara Desert on a camel’s back, experiencing an unforgettable sunset – then stay under a blanket of North African stars in a desert camp.
Embrace the Atlantic breeze in the coastal town of Tangier and see the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen over sunset, while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
Stay in a traditional Amazigh homestay high in the Atlas Mountains and enjoy a homecooked meal of Moroccan favourites, learning about the culture and traditions of an Indigenous population who’ve stood the test of time.
Kick back in the coastal town of Essaouira and discover the winding laneways at your own pace. Then, meet a local fisherman by the seaside and learn about his life and this traditional practice.
Explore the old medina of Marrakech and the labyrinthine medina of bustling Fes with knowledgable local guides, discovering the myriad of sights, smells and sounds along zigzagging lanes. Then, discover the colourful chaos of Djemaa el-Fna Square.
Is this trip right for you?
Don’t let the heat keep you from exploring the world! Summer temperatures can be extremely high in Morocco (over 40°C), which can make things uncomfortable. It’s essential to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat, and drink plenty of water.
Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.
There are a couple of long travel days on this trip, particularly the day travelling to the Sahara Desert. Rest stops will be made on the way and you’ll be rewarded with great views on the drive itself.

This was a really lovely trip with great pacing. I appreciated how friendly Moroccans were and how different each of the places we visited were. Thank you Intrepid!

Reduane is an amazing person. He provided and catered to all the needs of the group. Whenever there are any requests, he would immediately find solutions to help and provide support. He thinks ahead and plans for us. From what we can eat around the area during free time, where we would go next and what we could possibly see if we go at different pathways. He provides detailed insights and instructions really well. He observes us all and asks necessary questions to understand what we like and dislike. He has great emotional intelligence to understand our needs without prying too much and once he gets an understanding of us, he then make necessary adjustments to the itinerary or journey, making it comfortable for everyone. He is very kind, caring and thoughtful. Truly made the experience such an amazing one! This is my first Intrepid tours but if all guides are like Reduane, I’d happily plan my next one with intrepid. He has made us all feel safe and comfortable. Thank you Reduane!

My trip to Morocco was amazing. The mix and quality of planned activities was excellent. Our guide Hicham was knowledgeable and professional and helped to ensure everyone in the group had a great experience. Yes, there was long van rides, but Morocco is a big country and I would not have wanted to miss any of it!! Hotels were basic, but each one was absolutely beautiful and clean with lovely staff. I would, and have, recommended this trip to friends looking to travel to Morocco. I was very impressed with my first experience traveling with Intrepid.

The trip to Morocco was exceptional, I was on my own and I always felt safe. I learnt a lot about Morocco and enjoyed experiencing the local culture and customs. I have been raving about the trip to my friends and family.

This trip literally was the Best of Morocco! We were able to see such a breath of the country which I would never have been able to do on my own. Hicham, our tour guide was the best! His knowledge as well as his ability to organise the group and book really good tour guides for the walking tours made the trip for me and without him I don’t think I would have enjoyed the trip as much. This trip has made me want to come back to Morocco in the future and I highly recommend this trip for anyone that wishes to explore Morocco a bit more in depth. There were some long travel days but these were broken up and organised well by Hicham. I will never forget this trip!

The perfect length of time to explore all Morocco has to offer, any less time and you’d feel rushed and wouldn’t be able to see all the beautiful extra spots we got to!
